Let us know if they think “Orthodox” means you’re Jewish nowThis should be interesting; they know that I was Roman Catholic, but they don’t know that I’ve become Orthodox.Maybe I should throw them for a loop.

Oh Please You claim to have read my profile !! If you had you would know better than to speak. It is my goal to keep protestants from talking too much. But they just keep jabering. Protestants should only speak when they are spoken to. Be seen and not heard. Better yet not seen or heard.as defined by who. ? Understand the meaning of the word catholic and you will understand what I mean. understand the history of the church and the reformation and you will see. Understand the roman empire and what they have done and again you will see
Then what are you doing on the Non-Catholic board???Oh Please You claim to have read my profile !! If you had you would know better than to speak. I did not know protestants could read They can not read The Bible. Now after I read your profile I see where you are coming from. Thank you for your remarks.Your Profile speaks volumes.
That alone should tell her she took the right path. The HATE IFBs have for Catholics borders on insane. An online friend of mine, also an I/F Baptist turned Catholic, was told by her Baptist pastor that he would no longer be praying for her and her family, since they were clearly apostate and beyond any hope of salvation - just because they became Catholic.![]()
No one hates Catholics; just many of their beliefs. That alone should tell her she took the right path. The HATE IFBs have for Catholics borders on insane.
Maybe not, but when someone tells me I’m not Christian, when I belong to the one church actually founded by Jesus Christ, it’s hard to feel the love, ya know?No one hates Catholics; just many of their beliefs.
Thank you for your attacks. You have just shown your true colors Backwoods blues. I do realize that less than 1/10 0f 1 % of catholics share the views you do. I Wish you well on this earth and Hope to someday meet you in heavanOh Please You claim to have read my profile !! If you had you would know better than to speak. “There are not over a hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church—which is, of course, quite a different thing. These millions can hardly be blamed for hating Catholics because Catholics “adore statues;” because they “put the Blessed Mother on the same level with God;” because they “say indulgence is a permission to commit sin;” because the Pope “is a Fascist;” because the Church “is the defender of Capitalism.” If the Church taught or believed any one of these things, it should be hated, but the fact is that the Church does not believe nor teach any one of them. It follows then that the hatred of the millions is directed against error and not against truth. As a matter of fact, if we Catholics believed all of the untruths and lies which were said against the Church, we probably would hate the Church a thousand times more than they do.No one hates Catholics; just many of their beliefs.
first of all, there is no proof peter was ever the bishop of rome. the first pope to ever claim this came 218 years after you think this church began. why do you think a church like this would survive? the truth is self righteousness is always easier than true righteousness which is found only in jesus. this church here has patterned itself after judaism, plain and simple. mixing faith and works as if you actually could. the law leads to death and it could only condemn us.either you are under grace alone, or you are under the law alone. what i see here is people trying to make themselves more acceptable to god, that if you commit yourself to god by baptism or church attendance or any other kind of works that fall under the law. if you add to grace you no longer have a sacrafice, and that my friend only ends in death.so if you get mad at me for loving you in the truth, so be it. i rather share the gospel message with you than to let you go on with this grace+ works stuff.oh and by the way, peter never claimed this papal authority as your other popes have.If what you say is true then explain to me how the Catholic Church has survived and thrived, for 2.000 years, with a line of 265 Popes since Peter, still teaches the very same doctrine that Jesus taught His Apostles , and has all 7 of the Sacraments, has Apostolic Succession for 2,000 years, is the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic church founded by Jesus himself. He promised HIS church would never error. No Pope has ever altered the Doctrine of the Catholic Church and no Pope ever could!!. We trust Jesus to keep HIS word and he has done that for us. Jesus prayed for unity. In the last 500 years or so since the protestant reformation, the protestant denominations have divided and divided into over 40,000 different sects. Thats not unity, and all because they think the Bible is all they need and they can interpret it to suite themselves. When will we ever learn !!!

Interesting point. But would he have had need to do so? If he did assert that he had authority over the whole church, why did he not say so? Why does he virtually disappear after the book of Acts? Note, I did not say completely disappear.
I’d like to see the sources for this information, please.first of all, there is no proof peter was ever the bishop of rome. the first pope to ever claim this came 218 years after you think this church began. why do you think a church like this would survive? the truth is self righteousness is always easier than true righteousness which is found only in jesus. this church here has patterned itself after judaism, plain and simple. mixing faith and works as if you actually could. the law leads to death and it could only condemn us.either you are under grace alone, or you are under the law alone. what i see here is people trying to make themselves more acceptable to god, that if you commit yourself to god by baptism or church attendance or any other kind of works that fall under the law. if you add to grace you no longer have a sacrafice, and that my friend only ends in death.so if you get mad at me for loving you in the truth, so be it. i rather share the gospel message with you than to let you go on with this grace+ works stuff.oh and by the way, peter never claimed this papal authority as your other popes have.
did you read these words of jesus in mathew 7 :15?and if you did, than why wont you believe him? its pretty cut and dried. if these popes lives did not line up with the word of god, you can be sure their word did not either.and that goes for any teacher who professes the faith.Ah, but that’s the beauty of seeing Christ’s promises come to fulfillment. Those “corrupted popes” never taught anything contrary to the Church teachings. They might not have lived the faith perfectly (who among us does?) but the teachings of the Church remained unscathed. They have/had to face God for the sins they committed, as we all will, He alone is their judge.
What do you suggest we do to help our young people.?? It is soo sad that they walk away so easily, whatever the reason, but I am thankful that many of them do come back eventually.Fundamentalists exist and count on the ignorance of their congregations.
I had 18 years of Catholic teaching. I can easily blame the KIND of Catholic teaching I had. But it all came down to the fact that I just wasn’t listening. I was looking for greener pastures.
He might be taken in by all the smoke and mirrors. Hey, the music is great!! Makes me tap my toes and get all excited for Jesus! The preacher? He seems confident as he waves his Bible and ‘tells it like it is’.
The problem is, it’s all an illusion.
The sad part is, when young men like him discover that, they walk away from ALL religion.
He better know what he’s throwing away before he winds up for the pitch.
OH but you forget that Jesus promised HIS Church would NEVER error, He sent the Holy Spirit to protect HIS Church, Don’t you trust Our Lord’s Word?? No Pope, no matter how sinful he may be can do harm to the teachings of the Catholic Church, and NO Pope ever has! The fact that no Pope ever has been able to, is proof enough for that. He has to answer for his sins just like the rest of us do, but the Holy Spirit protests the teaching of the Catholic Church and has for 2,000 years, no matter what YOU think.did you read these words of jesus in mathew 7 :15?and if you did, than why wont you believe him? its pretty cut and dried. if these popes lives did not line up with the word of god, you can be sure their word did not either.and that goes for any teacher who professes the faith.
