Folks, don’t bother wasting your time.

This will be the result…

Leaven, unleaven - what’s the difference? They could use a whole loaf of Taystee bread and nothing is changing.

They don’t believe in the Body and the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and they certainly don’t believe what is in the Scriptures.

Traditions of men? Believe the Scriptures, first, Fred.

When all else fails, pull the guilt trip.

If you stop waving the red flag in front of the bull, things might be better. Consider changing your name.

Are you sure you are a Roman Catholic? We have many non-Catholics here flying under assumed colors.

I don’t know why you are responding to me the way you are.

I have been baptized and confirmed as a Roman Catholic. And because of circumstances in my life, I have become to feel like an outsider in the Church.

That’s fine. We all have had difficulties in our life; welcome to the club.

And your point? I for one would like to hear it.

Pastor Smith, I have two simple questions for you. First, if at any time anyone can show you Biblical rational for a Catholic teaching would you accept it as possible or dismiss it?
Sure.
Second, would you please, please cite SOURCES on your claims? I have a feeling that you have never read actual Church documents from the Church itself.
I’m familiar with the Bible.
Now a question for all non-Catholics who post on here: If the Holy Spirit is guiding your reading of scriptures, why is there more than one denomination?
If Roman Catholicism is true, then why is a circle blue?

You question makes no sense.
One God should guide everyone to one faith. One Bible should be read one way if it is read under the power of the Holy Spirit.
He does and it is. But do you know acknowledge that the Bible makes provisions for disagreements on non-essential doctrines and matters of adiaphoron?

Why don’t you answer the question? You don’t answer direct questions put to you. I asked you several questions today, and you have ignored them.

Am I to understand that you don’t know the answers?

Adiapheron? What’s that?

My point is that I have always been a Catholic until circumstances changed my thinking.

I came here looking to see what I can find.

I answered the thread question with my answer and I get questioned about my log in name, my religious background and only feel hostility being conveyed.

I think you are over-reacting. But your name is a problem - calling our faith a zero? That is not insulting?

Everyone would like to know what posters believe, especially if they present their name like you do. It is very offensive. And I don’t see you apologizing for it.

I did address the question. However, I could not answer the question because it is a nonsensical question.
Adiaphoron? What’s that?
Well, you’re a member of “Christ’s true church”. You should know that.

I haven’t figured it out that’s why I’m here.

But, I don’t feel that Catholics consider everyone brothers and sisters in Christ and I’m feeling it right now with the way you are responding to my posts.

You are putting way too much thought into my name. I never thought of zero meaning anything except for a way to use an unique name that wasn’t already taken.
I’ve already explained in a previous post about my name. Why do you feel it’s offensive? If you read my reasoning, I can assure you that it should not be offensive. So I see no reason to apologize. If you ignore my explaination and base it on your presumed idea, well than you are making it offensive to yourself.

Why? Because one Pastor, one Flock, one Faith.

10’s of thousands of pastors, 10’s of thousands of flocks, 10’s of thousands of different faiths.

How many denominations existed in Jesus’ time?
Holy.

Universal.

And Apostolic Church.

Ooops! Correction, not Universal, but Catholic.

😃

I never heard the term. What is it?

BTW you didn’t answer the questions I had posed earlier.
Would you like to try a hand at being responsive?

FRED SMITH

You have asked for questions, and I posed these but you did not respond. I am repeating them:

How about ‘we are saved by FAITH ONLY’?

How about divorce? Where is that permissible in the NT?

Where is it required in the NT that we be baptised by immersion?

Where in the NT is slavery approved?

You use grape juice in your Communion service. Didn’t Jesus use wine. Where is your authority for this.

Apparently, you have changed doctrine throughout the years. Where do you get authority to do this?

Try your teeth on those, and we will come up some more for you.

Hello,

I don’t know what is going on in your life, nor is it any of my business. What I do know is that if it with family go to your priest for help. If with your priest or parish and you don’t feel that you can go to them to correct the problem find a priest in another parish to talk with.

I to have gone through times when I felt like an outsider and in my case it turned out to be me that made myself the outsider. I am not saying that this is the case with you. There are many sources in the Church for help with what ever the problem maybe, today more than ever. I do not know if I can help in any way but am willing to listen and offer what help I can. It may be no more than a ear to vent into but its there if you would like.

Don’t you note the pattern?

Change the religious leader what follows?

Change the bible, the sacraments, the doctrines, etc…

Slippery slope…all the way dowwwwwwwnnnnnnn!

I was born into another denomination, so-to-speak.

I’m still riding the fence, learning all I can about Catholicism. An RCIA coordinator (I have a few…my job bounces me around from place-to-place) said that I am “reading my way into the Church”. The clergy sex abuse scandals haven’t helped anything. On deployments, I keep up with the news to maintain situational awareness…and for awhile it was all the media could talk about. But I understand that those are the few bad apples…even though some were simply relocated, putting other children in danger.

It’s a journey, and I’m beating the path, making my way…

God Bless you on your journey. If you want any good book recommendations or just want to talk, shoot a PM my way. I ,too,
read my way into the Church a bit.
