Are you including all the martyrs that die instead of recanting what they say including the apostles?
 
Because it’s the Church Jesus founded and promised to protect. Oops - I guess that’s two ! But they go together!
 
Thirst Quenching Truth



Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again; but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I may not be thirsty or have to keep coming here to draw water.” John 4:13-15
 
Because Jesus said that the Gates of Hell will not over come his church! 👍

Because it has existed and taught a consistent message since the time of Christ.

Yes, I should have said Catholic Church instead of Roman CC.
 
Union in love with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in Heaven. This love is evidenced by the life of Jesus but I think must be confirmed in us by the Holy Spirit.

I think that God draws us to the Church. People may cooperate with God in this. The Catholic Church is God’s plan and He draws people to His Church. Another post pointed out that we are called.

The point I am making is that faith is a gift so in a sense you can’t decide to believe. However, once faith is granted you are free to accept or reject it, i.e. free will.

Just to clarify what ByzCath said for the OP, there are various rites in the Catholic Church (same truth, different way of going about things in some instances due to culture or custom). The Roman rite is the biggest and common usage has made it the umbrella term that non-Catholics use to describe the whole Catholic Church–but this is technically a mistake.

I would just like to comment briefly here. My understanding is that the Western or Latin Rite and the Byzanrine or Greek Rite are the two different rites. Both of whom are subject to the Pope. “Roman Catholics” are those of the Western rite who are subject to the Patriarch of Rome who also happens to be Pope. Eastern Rite Catholics have their own Patriarch(s). At any rate, as I said, this is my understanding. Am I correct ByzCath or anyone else in the know?
