Genesis 1:1 - Revelation 22:21

It is a long passage…
…but it pretty much sums it up! 😉
It takes 3 years of daily/Sunday Mass to get through that one!! :hypno: :hmmm:

What a wonderful 3 years (plus) i have had… :heaven: :highprayer: :heaven:

Sorry!! 😃

i usually re-read & edit my posts… don’t know how that got by me…

I don’t know why i am still laughing… i guess what i wrote just sounds so weird…
You were just distracted.😃

I knew what you meant. I just didn’t want the writers from Chick publications try to recruit you. LOL.

Yes, i am sure Chick would love that one… 😃

speaking of Chick… do you get the feeling that guy is hopeless?

I wrote him several letters years ago… explaining the true Catholic posiiton on things… and well… he still isn’t Catholic… and i am sure other catholics have written him as well… i will bet 1000s have…

I don’t get that… :hypno:

I am sorry… but i just don’t get that…

It’s possible he knows more about catholicism than most Catholics… :hypno:

If you could pick just one scripture passage that you felt virtually sums up the message of salvation (what it takes to be saved) which one would it be?

I tend to think it would be St. Matthew 25:31-46… (?)
The gospel in a nutshell is 2 Cor 5:21.

actually, i just w anted to know what passage would be best to get people into Heaven…?

but i now see that this question makes me look like a Protestant

There is no scripture passage that can best direct a person onto the narrow road to eternal life…Not even the entire Bible can do that, by itself… I used to, mentally, know the scriptures but not (then)the Church… i was lost…

It was when i found the Church and got deep into Her (Real Presence, frequent Mass… ) that i began to know God/Christ…

The Church is so beautiful… why do so many people fail to see this???

That one where Jesus says, ‘Love God with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself.’ That can get anybody into Heaven.

yes, but only if one believes that to be the infallible Word of God… Waht if someone reads that, thinks its a good idea… tries to live it to the best of his ability… fails… and then begins to think, Well God wouldn’t ask us to do the impossible so this is not the word of God (or whatever)… ?

… Just trying to make the point tha we need the Church… not just the bible…

AmericanRevert,

if your favourite passage is Matthew 19:16-17, and the Koran describes Jesus as good, doesn’t that support the idea that Jesus is God.

Assuming that you accept the Koran and Matthew 19:16-17 as true.

No passage sums up (virtually or any other way) the message of Salvation. All passages must be read within the context of all of inspired scripture.

from the book of the prophet Isaias 42:1-4. verse 3 the smoking flax He will not quench nor the break the bruised reed…hope

How about Genesis 22:8
  1. Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.”
jesuswalk.com/abraham/10_sacrifice.htm

In Genesis God tells Abraham to go to the mountains in the land of Moriah which is three days walk away to sacrifice his son Isaac.

Mount Moriah is where King David decided to have the temple built. His son Solomon built the temple in what is now called Jerusalem. 1 Kings 6-8 and 2 Chronicles 2-4.

More info…

The exposed bedrock on Mount Moriah is referred to by Jews today as “Even ha-Shetiyah”, which in Hebrew means, “the foundation stone”.

The Arabs refer to Moriah as; “Kubbat es-Sakhra”, or the stone of foundation.

Isaiah 28:16 makes this statement: Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation; he that believeth shall not make haste.

Psalm 118 says - the stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.

Ok, I don’t know the Book, Chapter or Verse, but it goes something like this:

I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the father except by me. (Jesus) Pretty much sais it for me.

John 14:6. I use it in some of my sigs.

Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ
nevertheless I live
yet not I but Christ liveth in me
and the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by the faith of the Son of God
who loved me
and gave himself for me
