How will you spend it?

a) Celebrate because you know you are going straight to heaven.
b) Go for confession and pray for God’s mercy on your soul.
c) Doesn’t really matter because there’s nothing beyond death.

Obviously B

To tell you the truth, I’d phone my family first, telling them I love them, and asking for whatever forgiveness there is to ask for, then, I’d phone those that I don’t like and ask for their forgiveness too.

After that, I’d make my way to the confessional and ask His forgiveness. I wouldn’t be able to offer restitution for my sins in any other way but through prayer because of time restraints so I would pray and pray with gladness in my heart and trusting in His mercy.

Hopefully I drop dead right in the pew 😃

B if possible.

If not simply spend the time in prayer thanking God for his Love, and for His mercy.

I think it’s a good idea to live like a dying man because I feel it is the fastest way to change our lives positively.

Always imagine that you only had one hour to left……

then you will immediately go for confession and pray for God’s mercy on your soul.

This should really have been presented as a poll:)🙂

B) I’d go to confession, then get my friends togehter and, hopefully with the priest there, spend the rest of that hour talking with them about Heaven and Life Everlasting. I’d tell everybody not to bother mourning for me but to pray for me instead.

And, as my eyes rolled back into my head, I’d thank our LORD for allowing me a death in grace with my mind turned on; and ask HIM to turn on the lights of Heaven for me before it got dark…

This is exactly what came to my mind! I just have one addition, and I have included it in the arrangements I have already made for my funeral Mass. That would be to encourage those around me to live the rest of their lives as described in Matthew 5:13-14 and Matthew 25, as salt of the earth, and a light in the world in love and charity. I would wish that to be my legacy. I would wish them to take up their Faith daily and live as God wants. I think that would be the greatest inheritance I could leave them.

Great question. First I would max out my credit cards and rent a lamborghini for myself and my friends and family and drive down the highway as fast as the car can go. I would then send all of us for a trip around the world and party it up. Then I would pray and die.
 
I’d call as many of my family and friends as I could get a hold of, just to tell them they’ve meant a lot to me and how much I love them.

Then, if there’s time, have some great food and champagne.

Then confession (couldn’t hurt, even though I’m not aware of any mortal sins on my soul).
 
I’d want to go to Confession, partake in The Eucharist, and then spend the rest of my time with family and friends.
 
I suppose it all depends on how strong and mentally capable I am.

Ideally:
D. Take Refuge in the Triple Gem one last time, meditate, and make my peace with this world and let go my attachment to it. Hopefully, Nibbanna follows.

Well, I’d know for a fact that (c) is dead wrong, pun intended. I had the experience of my father turning up the night he died to apologise. We argued and conversed, and at the end he gave this almighty scream and disappeared. So there’s both life after death, but also judgement.

It wouldn’t be (a), because I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t go straight to heaven.

I think I’d be sweating it out unless I had easy access to a priest. At this point in time I’d be far more concerned with the bit of the Confiteor which says “that I have failed to do”. It’s one thing to confess the concrete sins you know you’ve committted, and of which you probably have some inkling of their detrimental on yourself and others, from experience.

It’s another to be aware that deeds left undone may have an even bigger negative multiplier effect than those sins you’ve committed, but you can’t see the future result so easily.

I guess my answer would be B then A, and I am sure I could fit some chocolate in there somewhere with A. 😃
 
I like the response of one of the Saints (I think it was John Bosco). When asked “What would you being doing if you knew you would die at noon tomorrow”. His reply “Making sandwiches”.
