But since I donāt rely solely on my personal feelings when it comes to my faith, I donāt get upset and weigh my church against an evangelical church down the street. Heck! If I were living in the dumps and hooked on drugs, etc, etc, I probably couldāve used the crutch that the evangelicals and fundamentalists provide. But after a couple years of minimalist faith, I would question why my faith isnāt truly growing into a full flowering that does nothing but honor and glorify my God. Growth into a faith that completely detaches one from themselves and gives all, whether quickly or over time, to God COMPLETELY, is the true growth and the true faith. When one settles for warm feelings, loudly blurted AMENS! and a preacher on fire, they have settled for something that applies to themselves and becomes a centered faith. ie⦠My personal Lord and Savior. Yes, He is that, but Heās much more than somebody who comes into your heart. His worship is much more than some good preaching. Itās much more than some christian rock band concert. itās much more than alter-less alter calls. All these feed into the PERSONAL attributes of faith. Recongnize that the communion of saints may catch some word play, but is NOT lived out. Christās body is give word play? Sounds familiar, huh. Everything is reduced to symbols as if humans are merely little symbolic functions in Godās scheme. The worship is not focused on what is going on in heaven. The worship is not a participation of the Word and Body, but only of the word. For thousands of years, the worship was a participation of the word and when Christ came he gave us his body. Why would you reject this? They call themselves bible christians, but lack just about everything in the bible. The Body of Christ, missing. The incense, missing. The liturgy, missing. The alter, missing. Itās all spelled out so clearly in the Bible, but itās all so catholic and taboo.
A reduction of faith into personal attractions hardly becomes a part of the vine. Itās in effect, itās own tree where leaves are grown and fall to the ground with more seeds to grow more trees that live on their own. The vine has a purpose. Itās our participation in the true Body, Blood, Soul and divininty of Christ. Not a chance to become another acorn.
Welcoming words speak much more than angry words. I donāt want to lash out, but if I were to judge my faith on my feelings like just about everybody who leaves the church, I wouldāve taken the replies from this thread into serious measurment. But, Iām sure most all of you have tried talking sense into mum for a while and have become frustrated. Honestly, youāre playing into the āfeelingsā game when you do that and silence is probably a better tool.Your first baptism is still valid. You are welcome back in the Church at any time.
