Actually, my main goal in opening this thread is for people to help people to be aware exactly WHEN they are being prideful, knowing that pride is such a deadly sin which can cut us off from Godās grace. And before I thought of asking the members here to make a confession, I researched on confessing together as a community, and I learned that it is actually a good thing. The Scriptures teach us the importance of community in dealing with our sin. Confession of sin in the presence of others is applying and celebrating the gospel.
Confession, whether in secret prayer or in the presence of Christians, honors Christ, according to Galatians 6:2.
James 5:16 also says: Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed.
Confession to one another celebrates the expiation of our sin and the sanctifying work of God through the cross of Christ -1John 1:9
With all due respect, I donāt find anything wrong with what Iām doing, and certainly, it never occurred to me that Iām being prideful in opening this thread. I want the members to examine themselves in preparation for confession this Lenten season, and besides, I donāt know the members here personally. If they confessed their sins here, there is no way I could EVER divulge their sins to people who know them nor do I have the desire of doing such.
I used the information from therapists who, to me, are credible. Honestly, I am astounded why you got angry with me. In opening this thread I didnāt have any intention to offend anyone. I just really want to help, because pride can come in subtle ways and people are oftentimes not aware that theyāre actually exhibiting such.
