If you're not Catholic, what is your motivation for visiting CAF regularly?

I read a lot of protestants in here and some are insightful, intelligent, Biblically quite literate, and very charitable to Catholics. I also read many who have a deep “jag” on against Catholicism, seem to disagree with it no matter what, show great shock and surprise when Catholics are angry at their insults against the Church, and they seem to find nothing redeeming in our Catholic faith? I’m just curious as to why non-Catholics visit here?

Why do you want to “irritate” Catholics? What do you hope to gain with that thinking? Islam seeks to convert Christians and Jews and I can’t imagine “irritation” as a motivator for conversion? With that thinking, it sounds like you’re a Muslim just to anger others? Do you actually believe in Islam or did you join up to be different and controversial?

I can’t imagine joining an Islam forum just to “tick off” Muslims. I’d much rather they leave a religion that copied Judaism and Christianity, a religion unfulfilled and that is predicated on violence and treating women like garbage and join Christianity. But that being said, I’m not going to their forums and tick 'em off. That would get me nowhere. Whatever floats your boat…

I have a great deal of respect of Catholicism.

Some of the Catholics here not so much though…

I think the laughing smiley after the comment indicates that Muslim Woman was actually joking when she said that. Sarcasm and irony don’t always translate well on the internet.

I came here seeking ecumenical type discussion.
Turned into an opponent of Catholicism. (debated the wrong people and ignored the nice ones)
Took a break and just really like the discourse and defending Protestants…not so much trying to talk you guys out of anything as much as defending my beliefs.
The level of discourse is good.
I have 3 or 4 boards I truly enjoy.

I’m here because I am interested in Catholicism from an ecumenical viewpoint. I learn a great deal here and, on occasion, I am able to help Catholics understand Lutheranism better. Above all, I hope that I can help, in some small way, to overcome several centuries of antagonism between Lutherans and Catholics. We are, after all, brothers and sisters in Christ.

I think Catholicism is a wonderful faith, and have much respect for it. Some Catholics, just like some Protestants, give their faith a bad name.

I just want to try to respond to some of the questions I see here about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I also hope to do that in a manner which constitutes friendship. The goal is to do my minute part to make life easier for the Mormon people. I did really goof by mentioning “apostasy” in one post, but I am brand new to this sort of thing.

👍
And:) some Catholics, & some Protestants, give their faith a really good name.

I have had horrid experiences on some non-Catholic boards. Of all the places on the net, my experience has been that CAF is the absolute best place to interact with other Christians. This is my internet “home”, & I am very happy to be here.
(Almost makes it worth the:eek:  nastiness that sent me running from those other “Christian” sites).

yap 😛

Anybody can understand it’s not a fun at all for a Muslim to take part in a Christians forum . Some Christians love to riducule our Prophet . On return , We can’t use any nasty words against Jesus (p) or Mother Mary (p) as we respect them both . Some Chrisitians take that advantage always

ok , now the real answer. I asked some Christians in an Islamic forum why Catholics make idols & bow down in front of stautues. They were all non-Catholics . A Pastor then gave me the add of 2 Catholics forums . So , here I am 🙂

We are all here because of divine providence. There are no accidents in God’s world.

Hmmm…I wonder if that’s why Catholics keep coming to our non Catholic Christian boards. :hmmm:
I love that “our” non-Christian boards LOL…What part of CATHOLIC Answers Forums are we forgetting here? LOL…So only non-Catholics are allowed in? I think the intent is for non-Catholics to visit here and exchange ideas and opinions and apologetics with Catholics. It’s not a non-Catholics-only board?

Possible. You’re right. Like email, tone can’t be heard or read well.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard that tired and corney old accusation that Catholics worship idols LOL…I’d be richer than Trump. Any informed person knows Catholics do no such thing and the statues in Catholic churches hardly qualify as idols. Look up the definition and the context of images in Scripture and they hardly fit the mold.

Let me clarify. I was talking about Catholics who go to non Catholic Christian boards totally away from this board at CA. I go to a couple of Christian boards and we have Cathholics who come there to debate. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I wasn’t talking about his forum on CA.
