Ouch… I had KFC twice, McD twice the past one week. I need fast food most of the time, and these are the easiest to get near my school. 😃 I know, it’s just excuses… 😛

…And my lenten resolution is to abstain from fast food. LoL
Looks like many of us had problems with our resolutions, so our op is in good company!😃

I feel so bad. I gave up alcohol for Lent because I thought perhaps I had been relying on drink too much-- I’m a mother of 4 very young children, and I homeschool, and I have been babysitting my 4 month old nephew for free 4 days a week. I’m so stressed!! I really don’t drink THAT much, but a glass or 2 of wine in the evening really helps me unwind. I had gotten to the point of drinking a couple glasses of wine probably 3-4 times a week, and I just felt like I was relying on it too much. So I gave it up for Lent. I drank some wine a couple of times on Sundays at the beginning, since I’ve heard and read that Sundays are “free days” during Lent. Then… I drank on a Saturday night. Then… I had some leftover wine on Monday, so I drank a couple of glasses on Monday. I feel like a big loser! I also thought I would try to cut back on sweets… and then as a family we decided to give up eating out at restaurants to save money for almsgiving. Same thing. Little by little-- we ended up just eating out as much as always!!

Am I the only one who has done this?
I have five kids, ages 22 months to 14 years. I like wine, ice cream, and I’ve done family daycare–I do some home schooling here, and also some of our kids go to public school so I have a mix.

lol, can we talk??? Don’t stress, just modify it a little. Maybe you could still have less wine, say give yourself a break and enjoy a glass or two on the weekend nights only?–Or something like that.

PS–can you count the free babysitting as a Lenten penance? I would–you must be a very loving person to do care giving for free because it is way harder than caring for your own----I hope your family appreciates you!

Darlin’

I’ve done worse than you. First Friday of the first lent I am celebrating…

Family decided to get together for a big meal. Grilled porkchops and corn on the cob. Nouthing else to eat that night (Yes I told the family about Lent)

About halfway into my third pork chop I realized… Friday… [CENSORED]!

I finished it not wanting to waste food.

The rest of the fridays where the same… Come dinner time I wouldn’t even be thinking it was Friday. Just FOOD!
.< An we always have my favorite meats on Fridays! GAH!

I did something similar this Lent. It has been hard for me to be self disciplined. But I keep starting over again. Only a week left in Lent and if I’m successful on my Lenten resolutions for the final WEEK…then I may try keeping it up until Pentecost just out of love of the Lord.
