I'm an Alien from the planet Zygone. What place is there for me in your religion?

I’m an Alien from the planet Zygone. What place is there for me in your religion? And why is your planet the only planet that speaks of Jesus. Sounds like something you made up.
Why would you expect other planets to know what is happening on earth? As far as aliens joining I would have to get back to you. Jesus, is the boss, not me. He makes all the executive decisions.

Btw: that would be a a fairly arrogant sounding alien wouldn’t you think? Imagine if i travelled millions of light years to another planet that I knew nothing about, insulted them about their religious beliefs, and questioned why their religion has not spread to the rest of the Galaxy. Now, that would be one arrogant alien. 😉

The scientists and religious people of your world are quite arrogant too. We pick up on your primitive transmissions!!! And we hear things like “humans are the only intelligent beings in the whole wide multi/universe”.

And now your saying we can’t take holy communion with God!

I just don’t get it.🙂

Why do you need to practice our religion anyway? Surely you would have already developed your religious system long before you made contact with another planet’s race.

It’s fun to joke and all, but if truly intelligent aliens from another galaxy showed up on Earth, the results would be chaos for the religious community. Namely, one group would still try to say "Well God created the Aliens too, even though if the Aliens (like in Prometheus, could PROVE they created us/have another “God”, etc…) .
I have long believed this is going to be the scenario in the ‘end times’, its really the perfect tool for Satan, even if there are real beings that do exist on other planets, satan could still deceive us with his own demons, masquerading for us, saying the right things to lead us astray, like, “we can show you proof of how we created the human race”…that would lead millions of people astray instantly, and leave the remainder wondering.

I think this is or its part of that verse about God sending a great deception, one that would fool the elect if possible…well, that deception would work very well in the times we currently live in, popular culture has ‘primed’ society that this is cool.

So what if the Zygones could do everything Jesus did, and even further could prove they existed in Jesus’s time?
We are 1% genetically different to chimps. The chances that an alien species would be anywhere near that is laughable. It always strikes me as absurd that people seem to think that if someone turned up one we could ‘have a chat’.

Good point, Bradski. I’ve never thought about the topic myself in this manner: I would use this.

Which scientists say that? You must have very old transmissions. I have heard many scientists speculate about intelligent life. I think you will find many humans to be very open to the idea of other intelligence in the universe. 😉

It’s not me who decides who can or can not take communion. That would be up to Jesus. 🙂

  1. Of course nonhumans can worship God and be Christians. The good angels worship God and they are Christians and saints. (They just aren’t baptized Christians and saints.)
So yes, a person who was not descended from Adam and Eve, but who was rational and had a soul, would still have the obligation to truth of recognizing God the Creator. Since he would be a part of Creation, he would almost certainly be fallen because of Adam and Eve, but it’s not clear whether or not he would suffer from original sin in the way we do, or in more the way that a dog or a rock does.
  1. If you consult the Scholastics, you will find that any rational being with a material body who isn’t an angel does have a soul, and is basically a man for all practical purposes (except reproductive ones). You really can’t have soulless talking critters in Thomistic theology, unless they are spirit beings just pretending to have bodies. Soulless mermaids are bad theology, unless you believe they are actually fallen angels.
  2. There’s a classic science fiction book series dealing with the scenario of aliens who are actually not what they seem, religiously speaking: James Blish’s books A Case of Conscience, Black Easter, and The Day After Judgment. (To say more would be to give spoilers.) Arthur Clarke’s book Childhood’s End is something of a secularist reply to it, albeit it inadvertently gives a portrait of dorky people worshipping aliens for no good reason.
The scenario of converting aliens is dealt with in Michael Flynn’s Eifelheim. He’s one of the best on the Scholastics. There are other good and bad stories on this subject by other authors.

C.S. Lewis deals best with the idea of unfallen aliens in his Silent Planet trilogy (it’s mostly the first two books, really).

Poul Anderson’s fantasy novel The Mermaid’s Children deals with the Danish Protestant theme of soulless rational mermaids, while John C. Wright replied to him many years later with his Catholic fantasy novel, The Iron Chamber of Memory.

Maybe God has his own special relationship with each civilization he creates, with us, it was the act of being born into our world as a human and then dying on the cross, who knows, maybe he has been doing this over and over again with trillions of other civilizations, and we are but one of MANY.

Since God has always been around, its highly probable imo, he has been ‘creating’ for a very long time. Some people may feel this makes the human race seem a bit insignificant, but I think it shows how big God truly is.

Maybe when we reach heaven or hell, we will find many different types of beings there as well, and we will be able to interact with each other.

You are an imposter. No alien can penetrate God’s firmament above. Therefore, no Zygonites on earth.

Careful… that’s what Joseph Smith said, except he expanded far more. Of course, I’m open to the possibility – but remember, God created us to have communion (not the Eucharist!) with us eternally once we are done with this life, and when the New Heavens and New Earth come, it will be well.

Zygone is indeed a disguise. I don’t usually communicate with my experiments.

Imagine you had the power to create a race of rational beings (which i have through the power of genetic manipulation) and every time you do this, at some point in their history, a figure named Jesus comes into existence performing miracles and claiming to be the son of God and taking credit for what Ive done. Its some kind of glitch and i can’t get rid of him.

Um, okay. But the hypostatic union of God and man isn’t a “glitch,” it’s God’s plan of redemption for his whole creation–every part of it. For, we have been promised a new heavens and a new earth.

One could manipulate genetics all one pleased and not reproduce what was a divine act, not merely a natural one.

Some scientists now think that sentient life is an anomaly, not the norm for our galaxy. They surmise that intelligent life outside our Earth will not appear for millions of years. I don’t know if they are right or not, but there was only one manifestation of God taking on flesh and that was in the person of Jesus Christ and none others.

That’s inconsistent with what you said before when you said no other planets heard of Jesus. 😉
