Ag_not: And the result is I am convinced that the catholic church is the one true church.
**RA: **Well, that’s no big surprise.
TBH, I think you pretty much were already decided. I’m not sure how much of a desire you actually had to look at much of anything…IMHO.
I went back and read your original post (Oct 19, '08, 11:54 am.). That was nine days ago when you said, “*investigate them for myself.”
And now, 28 pages later worth of material – in less than ten days – you’ve already accomplished the fairly lofty goal of educating yourself on all of the material mentioned and investigate: all the arguments, counter-arguments, post-arguments, side-issues, historical references, traditions, in-depth biblical passages with various commentaries (both RC and evangelical), word studies, and church father passages!?? :hypno:
WOW!!! You must be brilliant!!! I can’t even pick a big screen TV or a DVD player in 9 days.
You were able in less than ten days to actually achieve your stated desire of looking “more closely at these for my own education” and “investigate” everything thoroughly?!!
I am impressed…

Sure did

As for all the arguments, counter-arguments, post-arguments, side-issues, historical references, traditions, in-depth biblical passages with various commentaries (both RC and evangelical), word studies, and church father passages!?? I had that sorted out by breakfast - why do you think I was back on here by 11am
You see, you have to be discerning. You have to have the skill to know if what your reading is useful and educational and well formed and well researched and properly peer reviewed and authentic - and what’s just claptrap. It does help whittle down the essential reading.
Oh yeah, and faith. And prayer - especially to Mary and the Holy Spirit.
Try it sometime.
Doesnt make for great look-at-me-Im-so-cool-verbosity on a web forum - but it does wonders for the searching soul
