I'm going to try online Catholic dating, advice?

I’m considering trying on line dating again. I did it for a few years off and on, and then stopped when my mother became ill and then died. Just lost my interest. I’ve used both Catholic sites and secular sites (like Match.com). Quite honestly the Catholic sites were disappointing. I think when I joined Catholicsingles, there are several questions regarding whether or not you agree with the Church’s teaches on birth control and pre-marital sex. I initially answere that I did… no responses. Then as an experiment I changed my answers to “no” and boy oh boy did guys start to show interest in me! Like I said, disappointing.
Did you have pictures of yourself and a profile that had some interesting information?

These are things to look at.

Also, I’d say that on-line Catholic dating is a man’s market, so as a woman, it’s important to put your best foot forward.

I believe that! In fact, you may be surprised how far some people who SAY they SUPPORT the Church’s teaching were willing to go with that stuff…:o 😊

Just remember though not to dwell on people who don’t interest you, and focus instead on people you are interested in meeting.

I would encourage you to try it again at some point because if executed properly, it can work, but I think it usually takes time.

I’ve posted a list of suggestions and a list of red flags on this thread. Check it out!

OVERALL----the right attitude to have is not to complain about things, but to be positive and keep moving forward. 🙂

Will definitely watch this thread as I am thinking, THINKING;), about MAYBE dating. I have just been so happy single. 🙂

Well, the focus of this thread has been on-line dating and it’s sorta fizzled out. 😦

Is on-line dating something you were thinking about or just in-person dating? :hmmm:

I’m currently a CM member myself but i’m wondering about getting off the site. Its not that it hasn’t work (I’ve had conversations with quite a few wonderful women for a while) but my problem is that there aren’t many people relatively close to me (kind of surprised at that since we are a pretty Catholic area and have a good amount of devout Catholics but our population in general is small). I know its hard to do long distance and it sucks because I don’t know how it works when people are in those situations when it starts online. Also it doesn’t help that I’m wondering if I’m even called to marriage anymore (I feel like i’ll just have to accept single life since I moved to the middle of nowhere for a teaching job which I love, but unfortunately though there aren’t many single women and Catholic schoolteachers aren’t made of money).

Anyway I would recommend doing it but just be smart. Don’t reveal too much or make stupid decisions. Just like in traditional dating there are going to be scam artists, creeps, and of course dudes and dudettes who are fake or say things just to get dates and more ()

Hi, I’ve never tried On-line Dating, but used to
dabble with Christian Chat rooms! It’s really
adrenaline pumping fun sometimes! What-ever
you decide, I pray that you will go with the idea
of SEEING GOD at work in the whole venture,
GBY.
