The devil - is the absolute King of Narcissism.
That is probably right. My problem with humility is that we either misinterpret it, or overemphasise it as Catholic Christians.
We lose our sense of humour by trying too hard to be humble. Then we can become anxious to appear humble to others instead of just relaxing about the whole thing.
There is a heap of fake humility out there. A lot of us hide our arrogance. I’m not the only arrogant person in the world. Just I take this opportunity to show the real Ron here online.
Aim for authenticity first. Then the humility will come.
Just call me Dr Freud.

That is a good one. That could be me in a nutshell. Well done.

I know your a good guy 😀 a little rough around the edges -
And I’ve noticed you also have a nice sense of humor about you too -
I like it - " aim for authenticity first " -

Did God say you couldn’t eat from any of the tree’s in the garden? No, just your tree. 🤣 The original narcissist.

Goodcatholic, i am sure i saw u on another forum? Yea, Christian one! If i am right, you started tons of threads there too! Lol

which forum is that? I need to do more psychoanalysis so i can get a better badge from @goodcatholic.

That I can get so many replies to my self-absorbed threads, never ceases to amaze.
It could mean:
  1. people are getting tired of the serious debate style threads
  2. other threads start to repeat after a while, recycle
  3. I’m a breath of fresh air
  4. I’m a breath of less stale air
  5. the structure of CAF needs to evolve
By Number 5 I think I’d like to see a few changes to such things as the sub-forum titles. A subforum called “casual discussion” is showing a lack of insight in my opinion. People want to be serious and relax in the same thread. Not sure I am a fan of CAF technology. it doesn’t present well IMO.
Anyway, we all like variety and a change.
I’m hoping there are some other budding narcissists who will start their own threads. Or maybe we can have a blog sub-forum. That would be ideal for me.

I don’t think he is serious. Even in the unlikely event he is serious, just treat him as if he’s not serious.
If he is not serious then he should not start frivolous threads or at least put them in the casual conversation forum.
If he is serious then my previous comments stand.

It’s the all about meism age we live in. Even I have faith in God, its all about my faith journey, my sins, my redemption, my death, my first class tickets to Heaven, my ability to love others, …

But narcissistic individualism is better than narcissistic communism. Communism is the worst evil . It robs us of our sacred personalities.
Very profound. I begin to see the wisdom hidden in the apparent contradiction of your thread title.

Great Catholic theologians (e.g., Cardinal Ratzinger) have written much about the dignity and worth of the individual, how each person is created in God’s image and likeness, Jesus’ personal love and sacrifice for each and every one (remember the Good Shepherd leaving the 99 sheep to look for one, and how heaven rejoices when one sinner is saved), and how our Church, in its worship and liturgy, is not collective, but rather a community/communion of individuals.

Once again you have a stimulating and thought-provoking thread… but don’t let it go to your head. Persevere in humility.

To all readers: I am not being sarcastic, facetious, or ironic.

I honestly do let success go to my head. I was never suited to becoming very successful because I was one who rested on their laurels, became too complacent. And then my effort would decrease.
I remember after the first time I got a big paycheck, I felt like I was on cloud nine and never saved a dime.
