Catholicism is the true Church founded by Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I sincerely hope and pray that you will not abandon your search for the Truth–all of us are obliged to do so diligently–and if you do so I believe you will find yourself back in the Catholic Church.

This isn’t aimed at you but one of the things that boggles my mind is how leaving the Church is the same thing as leaving God in the mind of Catholics

What did Jesus live for?
If all he came to do was to give his life or blood for sinners then he could have done that when he was born instead of fleeing to Egypt, he could have laid his life down when he read his first passage in the temple or let the people stone him, but he didn’t because he was busy establishing a Church, and like Joseph Peter was given full authority over the House of God.
How did you come to your decision? we all get battered by satan from time to time, but running away is for little children who are not yet grounded.
Are you aware that Christ said when he returned there would be little faith left?
have you not read the Eucharistic Miracles? or how Our Lady ordered the sun to leave its orbit around the Firmament?
your not really asking for help so I take it your happy to leave Gods salvation plan, so what ever journey he takes you on I hope you never loose faith in God.

Do you still consider yourself a Christian?
Our late priest always encouraged those about to be Confirmed in the Catholic Church to go to the various Protestant churches in the area and see the way they taught about Jesus. He said that becoming/remaining Catholic is very serious. He didn’t want anyone doubting or regretting their decision. If there were any doubts about Catholic teachings and beliefs and the person wanted to leave, now (before Confirmation) was the time.
My advice to you would be to pray, examine why you no longer believe as you did when you first became Catholic and also know that you can remain seated when it is time to receive the Eucharist. That is what Sen Ted Kennedy did when his views didn’t agree with the Church.

Because Christ our Redeemer said that it was truly his body that he was offering under the species of bread, it has always been the conviction of the Church of God,
When you read Jesus says that the flesh has nothing to offer it is spiritual we get a glimpse in my view that Jesus is saying this bread is my flesh even though your flesh can not see or comprehend it your spirit will be enriched with grace.
Grace is what saves you grace is drawn down when we follow the rules like pray forgive receive the Eucharist go to mass repent etc etc all Gods ways have conditions attached.
Have you seen any of the Eucharistic Miracles? like Lanciano Miracle, nothing in the world like it.
We do not live by flesh alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of our Lord and that word was made flesh and he gave us that flesh to overcome the world like he did.
You need to pray because your faith is being tested and your not fighting back.
Pray harder and allow your self some space to have doubt but never walk away based on your own perceptions, this is why Christ gave us a church to answer the hard questions and to guide us into understanding.
I recommend doing a fast and praying the Rosary and you may well feel different and be made perfect.

The signs of bread and wine

What do you mean by “how it works?”
@CatholicDetroit , I have been a member of the Catholic Church for 72+ years .
I can’t explain how the Eucharist works .
Prior to my faith in the Eucharist my faith is in God , and in God as revealed Father , Son and Holy Spirit .
My faith is in Jesus and in what he said at the Last Supper about the bread and wine .
I don’t know how it works .
I don’t understand it .
But Jesus said it , and he’s no liar , so I believe without understanding what he said .
I’m not interested in terms like “transubstantiation” . I don’t get all the “substance and accidents” terminology .
Gerard Manley Hopkins the Jesuit priest’s , translation of the hymn Adoro te Devote puts my thinking into better language where he writes :
" Seeing, touching, tasting are in thee deceived:
How says trusty hearing? that shall be believed;
What God’s Son has told me, take for truth I do;
Truth himself speaks truly or there’s nothing true."

When I was younger I used to question my uncle who was a religious brother , about things .
Always trying to understand difficult topics of the faith. One day , he wrote to me he said -
"The Catholic faith is not a problem to be solved
it is a mystery to be lived. "
If so, open your bible to John Ch. 6. Read and ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten your mind.

I had a very wise and wonderful Bible teacher who always said, “If you have a question, ask God about it and then put it on the shelf and wait for God to answer the question.” No mater how many questions we have, there would never be too many for God and the shelf would not collapse under their weight.
Please consider remaining. God is in the Church. Pray, search the Scripture, and most importantly, seek the Face of God himself.
