I belong to a chapel that has a very human pastor…he is tedious in the extreme and at times frustratingly stupid (in my opinion).

He has some redeeming qualities, he is very kind and compassionate to the sinner, he makes a marvelous confesser.

For all that He has been chosen to become a priest, he does all things for his love of God, so whatever I might find flawed in his nature he is worthy of my respect in his office as an ordained minister of God.

The priest’s first role is not to be all things for all people but to worship God. Oh yes pray for him and work within the parish in a role that does not cause abrasion to your nerves.I believe priests are pretty thin on the ground in most places so we need to nurture them.

Of course I could be harsh if I was perfect myself!

In all fairness, not all ladies that wear mantillas are “Spanish” or “really really old”----
talk about profiling! That is the sterotype of someone who obviously has not been to a more Orthodox parish!
I don’t think he was being serious  I thought it was funny.
