Your mom should have made a formal complaint to the archdiocese for comments like that. Priest or no priest, he is not excusable for being a racist.Back when my parents wanted to be married, a priest told them they couldn’t due to the fact that it was an interracial marraige and that was against the laws of nature;
That’s not what my (former Methodist) wife thinks. At first, she was very uneasy about what Catholics believed in. Until we got married and she started attending Mass with me. She is now a Psalmist in our parish.The Catholic Church lacks the fullness of faith.
Yes, most cafeteria-Catholics (when they do attend Mass), are at times lost in their own world. Being a Catholic is being part of a Community. A worldwide Community that no other church can compare.When I was 18 years old (a very long time ago), the catholic church offered nothing but a half hour mass. When I went west, I met mormons and they offered so much more. They offered a community.
Good grief, Dolphy! You scared me there for a minute!Ha ha fooled you…

The 1st century church was “full gospel” the present day Catholic Church is not. There are many, many other distinctions that prove Catholicism lacks the fullness of faith.That’s not what my (former Methodist) wife thinks. Would it hurt Catholics to stay sober for one day.And what may I ask, is wrong with a protestant wedding?
…they make you pay for expensive booze…would it kill them to have a keg???
I believe that being “equally yoked” in marriage is much more concerned with being certain that your intended is of the same faith. The concern in the old testament wasn’t the racial intermixing but the idolatry and polytheism that came with marrying outside of the Jewish community.And I suppose the fact that he upheld the Church’s teaching on being equally yoked in marriage (which we also find in the Bible) is considered by them to be evidence that he was a child abuser?
I suppose what you mean by “full gospel” is having the full compliment of 27 N.T. books in their possession?The 1st century church was “full gospel” the present day Catholic Church is not. There are many, many other distinctions that prove Catholicism lacks the fullness of faith.
Totally agree.NOT FUNNY.
No… I hadn’t but, I may look for it. Biggest thing is that I have had and still have a tendency to avoid “triggers”…if you know what I mean…I am impressed with your story.
Considering that, I wonder if you ever saw the movie “One Man’s Hero” starring Tom Berenger? It is very Catholic themed and I think you might appreciate it. It was not a very popular movie but it addresses some of your thoughts in war.
See if you can find it.
I think we would all love to have you actually provide specific items and proofs…that have not been previously posted anywhere in these forums and debunked as well.The 1st century church was “full gospel” the present day Catholic Church is not. We can’t because part of being Catholic is having alcoholic genes. (Go to any fish fry on a Friday night for evidence)Would it hurt Catholics to stay sober for one day.![]()
Catholics are supposed to marry Catholics, so that they can raise their children in the Catholic faith. The Baptist faith has very little in common with the Catholic faith.isnt the unequally yoked part about a christian and a non-christian? not between denominations?
Moses was a murderer, yet God chose him to give the Ten Commandments to the people of Israel. Should they have said, “You are a murderer; therefore, we don’t have to listen to you”?I think the mention of the child abuse was that even though the priest said that a protestant and a catholic being married was against god laws that apparently the priest own practice of child abuse was not against gods law
I don’t get it…you mean *besides *Good Friday?Would it hurt Catholics to stay sober for one day.![]()
So the man who administers communion to you can have done, or rather, do anything he wants but it’s okay because God chose him?Catholics are supposed to marry Catholics, so that they can raise their children in the Catholic faith. The Baptist faith has very little in common with the Catholic faith.

A priest can be a sinner, and he might even be the worst of sinners, but he is still a priest - he is still the one through whom God’s voice comes to us, to instruct us in God’s ways.
