Catholics are Christians. Most protestants are NOT Christians. The word Christian has a set meaning that is not going to change just because you want to make up your own definition. Even the protestants that are Christians are broken Christians that have not got half a clue as to what the truth is. You may want to follow yourown path to Jesus, but isn’t is a lot smarter to follow the path to Jesus that HE laid out for us to follow and desires that we follow. This isn’t rocket science here, it just basic logic. Following yourown path is very selfish and it a blaring sign to God that you do not want to follow God’s rules but only your own. Only those that want to follwo God’s rules go to heaven, and anyone who doesn’t will have to not go to heaven and be outside following their own rules, where Jesus tells us there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.
Homosexuality is wrong because it debases human beings. Not to mention the fact that anal sex is an act of Violence, it turns one human being into a piece of meat for the satisfaction of another. You could try to levy the same arguement against heterosexuals and it would hold true for those that treat the opposite sex with this kind of attitude but it is not always true of heterosexuals, especially not in most married couples, where as it is always true with homosexual sex.

I think I agree, but I’m not too sure why this comment was made.
Human individuals are sinners however, the Church Herself being the Mystical body of Christ is of course sinless.

We go to heaven because of the grace of God, and by His Grace alone. Lent is just a devotional practice that helps us to become better Christians and if done properly helps us to grow closer to Christ.
It seems like you are trying to draw a distinction between the terms Christian and Catholic when there is of course no distinction. All Catholics are Christian, but sadly not all Christians are Catholics.
Putting Ash on one’s forehead on Ash Wednesday to begin a Christian fast which honours Jesus’ own fast is anything but pagan. Perhaps if I were wearing ash to honour a pagan god then it would be a pagan ritual, but we wear ash in order to honour God.

When it is all said and done we are limited by the box we live in. We can observe and test, but the raw data means nothing. We have to use reason to interpret the data.

Yeah, I read through the thread. I was going to reply earlier, but a lot of the postings were making me angry, and I’d rather not post that way, it just adds fuel to the fire. The OP really managed to chuck an apple of discord in here, eh? Everybody seems to be at each other’s throats.
I personally think this thread isn’t accomplishing anything, and should be tied off in a square knot.

Human knowledge has gaps and our curiosity makes us fill them. Just the fact that there is something missing, does not mean a certain something is missing. Esp. in knowledge, if we would know, what’s missing there wouldn’t be a gap any longer.

The gap the we keep try to fill is God. Once you have him there is no longer a gap. There is still understanding that continues to unfold but that is it.

Even atheists have this desire. By closing the gaps they draw nearer to God, even though they won;t admit it.

Let’s see. The whole world except for atheists can experience God. Perhaps atheists receiving mechanisms are faulty or obstinately blocked.
The bottom line is atheism offers nothing for most humans. The desire for and experience of God is much more satisfying. That is also why atheism does not have a chance of ever being relevant.

The whole world? Taoists experience your god? But they are probably a religious kind of atheist.
Perhaps. So some god created us in a faulty way?
And then there are people who experience plenty of gods, perhaps their receiving mechanisms are even better than yours, if you fail to experience all of their gods. Hm?
