What about their tolerance for me?University opens doors to knowledge and experience. Part of the experience is being surrounded by others who believe differently than you do. Why are you trying to close doors? If your faith is solid you have nothing to fear. Tolerance is a good thing here. Try it.
What is it with you people. Why do you assume I am the intolerant one because I am saying that I am feeling excluded. I love how you are trying to paint me as intolerant bcause I refuse to agre with points of view that I don’t agree with.
Are you in my classes? Are you there when professors tell me to shut up because they don’t agree with me? Are you there when classmates purpusefuly cut me out of things? Are you on my facebook page to see what happens when I post something of my own interest and for those on my friends page who agree with me and I get responses of “Don’t make me slap you.”?
Yes. I’m the intolerant one…because I stick to my convictions.
Although you all here are just illuminating my point excellently about the intolerance, accusations, and isolation that is created around me simply because I am different than most of my university. You do better at showing this point that I ever could describe. So, thanks I guess.
For those offering their support here: thank you. I realy appreciate it. This is a really hard time for me. It sucks having to sit back and keep your mouth shut when people are belittling your most cherished beliefs and you can’t speak up in defense and/or show you you really are without being labeled an “intolerant bigot.” (as many professors LOVE to do) And, as evidenced by some posters here, you can see what happens when one little insignificant catholic expresses their feelings, or admits the pain they feel at the exclusion they face from their classmates every day. The conversations you can’t be a part of, PRAYING that your group doesn’t make you do a project that is pro-choice or pro-war or pro-death penalty. Or hoping that you can just get through today without someone calling priests pedophiles. Really, it rocks. But I suppose I should just shut up…after all, feeling hurt be people belittling my faith is “bigoted” and “exclusive”
