I'm sick of the rabid Islamophobia on these boards...

Hi

I think there are some people who are bent upon not listening to the peaceful view of Islam. If they spent a lot of time studying under a misconception about unpeaceful Islam, if they are sincere people and want to eradicate violence, then they would have agreed to study the peaceful approach as well, and spent some time on it. I don’t think it is a positive approach, it is rather adding fuel to the aleady inflammable situation.

I think, it would be a reasonable thing to make study as suggested by me so that a peaceful earth becomes a reality.

Thanks

“You mentioned here conversion? Is it true that in some Islamic countries, if a Muslim converts to Christianity, he is subject to the death penalty?”

That’s what I have heard. I think that this refers to the Islamic Republic of Iran, or perhaps Saudi Arabia. But here, we are referring to countries identified as Islamic theocracies. I wonder what the ancient Israelites would have done to one of their own who converted to worshipping the Greek gods. They weren’t too fond of the early Christians.

There are obviously Muslims who would like to kill anyone who converts from Islam to another faith, but certainly not the majority of Muslims. We have intolerant people in our midst, and so do the Muslims. But the majority of them have a live an let live attitude. At least, that has been my experience.

It would be wonderful if all religions, faiths, creeds, denominations, cultures and races could learn to live harmoniously…but if you read the link below, you will see that islam is doing precious little to advance that cause:

I will begin to be more accepting of the thoughts and desires of muslims when they strike down their religious bigotry laws worldwide and cease supporting terrorism monetarily and silently by turning a blind eye to it.

So which is the violent version of Islam?

That’s the version we are concerned about.

Could it be that it is the only “visible” version, because the non-violent peaceful and friendly one seems to be quite well hidden…

Yes, I would like to see a million Muslim march for peace and against Islamo-facism, Islamo-terrorism.

That would begin to change my mind about the alleged silent majority against those evils.

I pray for peace.

God bless.

The problem with your ‘argument’ is you simply repeat your opinion and refuse to address evidence people present to you.

Suggesting people just go out and study assumes we haven’t.

If you want to truly dissuade people of that notion then you should engage in CONSTRUCTIVE debate (you quibble pedantically and say you’re not here to debate, but to discuss).

Several people, including myself have pleaded with you to do this. We’re geunienly here to listen, but not to be lectured. You prefer lecture - spamming the threads with posts about your faith.

Would it be that subtle that the media can not see it?

Conversely the *jihad *against us, when was the last time you heard that a Moslem cleric urged his mosque to undergo a leaflet campaign? Recall those Danish cartoons that they protested about? Why not a series of stern letters to the editor, and other peaceful protests?

“You mentioned here conversion? Is it true that in some Islamic countries, if a Muslim converts to Christianity, he is subject to the death penalty?”
Seems that way… How tolerant:confused: Yet they enter other countries to live…and DEMAND tolerance and special priveleges, then can’t figure out why the rest of the world doesn’t particularly like them on any level.
That’s what I have heard. I think that this refers to the Islamic Republic of Iran, or perhaps Saudi Arabia.
Of recent note, I believe it was a fellow in Afghanistan that they were going to hang. I believe that the entire world was up in arms over it and they didn’t do it…but I’m not positive.
But here, we are referring to countries identified as Islamic theocracies. I wonder what the ancient Israelites would have done to one of their own who converted to worshipping the Greek gods. They weren’t too fond of the early Christians.
I think we all know the answer to that one…

While there is truth to what you say… I think that where most of the muslims may be concerned…it could be a measure of tolerance, or a lack of motivation to actually carry out the deed knowing that someone else is willing.

Yes, we have intolerant people in our midst. I might even be considered a little “intolerant” on one level, despite my general attitude toward embracing a “live and let live” personal philosophy.

I don’t tolerate finger pointing intolerant fools who claim that there’s is the only way to Heaven while at the same time launching major attacks on my beliefs… I think what bothers me more than the attacks is the arrogance and obnoxiousness displayed by some of these people.

I have friends of many religions…even die-hard Pentacostals… who have never uttered one offensive word about anyone’s beliefs, and that is how it should be.

And i think some people disreguard any teachings on christianity dont you think?
You said yourself in an earlier post any teachings from christianity are useless, so anything you have got to post on here about islam will fall on death ears as well.

Indeed. paarsurrey’s belief is we’re all failures at maintaining God’s message… which he says peacefully

How’s he back up this claim? Loads and loads of spam.

Hi

You know we follow peaceful and reason oriented Muhammad/Quran/Islam. It is nowhere mentioned by peaceful and reasonable Muhammad/Quran/Islam to resort to bringing out processions and strikes, so that we will never do just because you want us doing such things. We don’t want to convert you, you may be steadfast on your blind faith, we don’t mind. Absolutely no compulsion. You are free to write anything politely , courteously and reasonably.

I love Jesus, Mary and followers of all the 30000+ denominations of the Christian faith.

May GodAllahYHWH bless you all!

Thanks

I very much doubt this because it’s an oblique insult - why not just say you love all Christians, rather than point out the many denominations.

I could just as easily point out that your faith isn’t even considered to *be * Islamic - according to the majority of Moslems who don’t believe in a different prophet following Muhammed

You are correct when you point out that it is not the “Liberal” hate mongers who are demonizing Muslims. It is the “Neo Con” hate mongers.
Please don’t put words in my mouth. The point I was trying to convey is that the “Liberal hate mongers” have purposely allied themselves with the most hateful religion in the history of humanity, and they seem fine with it. And the “Neo Cons” haven’t demonized anyone. Muslims have done that all by themselves.

Where did this term “Neo Con” come from anyway? Have Conservatives really changed all that much? Do they want anything new? I would argue not. They still want what they’ve always wanted, and that is to preserve this country as the beautiful bastion of freedom and morality it’s always been. And as for your assertion that they are somehow assaulting the constitution (nutjobs love to make this argument) I would like to point out the fact that Conservatives are the ones trying to preserve the constitution, while Liberals are the ones trying to warp it into something that justifies their depravity. Your examples of illegal search and seizure, and right to a fair trial? One, those only apply to citizens, so any terrorist combatants caught in the field don’t count. And two, I hardly think seizing someone’s bomb-making materials counts as illegal. Arguments to the contrary are as flimsy as a teenager’s assertion that the first amendment gives him the right to wear a shirt with profanity on it to school. Don’t try to give me that garbage about Conservatives trying to take away our rights. Destroying the constitution and refusing to bend it are two different things.

Oh, by the way, our founding fathers DID try to warn us about Islam. They were well aware of the threat. As a matter of fact, some of the U.S. Marine Corps first missions were dealing with Muslim violence. Look it up.

And there’s a HUGE difference between killing to protect Christianity, and killing to protect Christians, wouldn’t you agree? If someone comes into my home with a gun and I’m forced to kill them, I’m not doing it to protect Christianity in my home, I’m doing it to protect the HUMAN BEINGS in my home. But then, Islam has never made the distinction.

You are right about one thing, though. Religion doesn’t kill people. But there is one particular religion that demands its followers kill people. Care to venture a guess which one?

Hate mongers! There’s Chrisitans here desparate to misrepresent their own faith - one pointed to an example of a bad pastor who had sex with his daughters. Why? To demonise Christianity - and bring it down to the level of Islam

Muslims take to the streets in France and England all the time to protest.

It comes to mind to ask you if you actually believe what you say? Every thing that you said above is directly the opposite of what your Quran says to do. Processions and strikes…seems to be islams primary sport or occupation. Thats about all there ever is. Convert us…not likely at all, but the Quran says you must or kill us. Speaking of “blind faith”? Thinking that mohammed and the Quran represents “peace and reason” is blind faith from another dimension. Gee, thanks for backing me up on my 1st Amendment Rights…

Not to mention the entire middle east. Street marches and chanting seem to be their national product… as well as burning other countries flags and destroying the property of others…

No, you point has not been made.

Islam is violent from it’s inception. Muhammed ordered attacks on his enemies. He over-saw the execution of PoWs. He applauded murder of his enemies, including a woman who simply wrote witty songs paradoying him.

The stance you make “anyone can make a religion violent” is a truism.

The example of Muhammed is the very one Moslems look to - as he’s they’re ideal type. If you want to call that a ‘weakness’ that itself acknowledges a problem for Islam.

It is indeed up to them to interpret this, and that’s what they do! They blow people up, or statues of Buddha. They think it’s okay to marry a child. To lie or deceive for the increase of their faith.

I’ve absolutely no idea why you bring Voltaire into this. A point that’s known only unto you.

Until you find some causal links between Jesus and violence done by Christians you have not made a point.
  1. Islamic CIVILIZATION was violent from its inception, Islamic religion? That’s another question.
  2. THEY don’t do the things you say they do, only a minority. We can’t say all Muslims blow people up or lie to advance their faith, as you seem to imply.
  3. The reason I bring Voltaire into this is that he and others of the French Enlightenment called Christianity intrinsically violent. He was of course wrong but the damage was done. There is no causal link between Jesus and violence. Never said there was. My point is that there may not be as strong a link between Mohammed and violence that many think there is. We can’t say that Islamic RELIGION is intrinsically violent untill we know the context of the violent verses and how they should be interpreted.
