I’ve just finished reading through this thread. I never realized that people had issues with the words “boobie” and “boobs” but I’m starting to understand. yeah…I’m a young person who calls them boobs and boobie (at home only of course)…yikes. I still don’t really have a word that I consistently use for nursing with my 19mth old. She does just call me “mama” and reaches for me or nuzzles me.

Also my parents never went through the proper names of body parts with me. So I never knew what they were called or actually even about periods until the internet or my friends told me. If I had a question if something looked normal, I did ask my mom to check once but mostly I tried looking up things online. I still don’t know exactly what every bit is called and I just feel comfortable calling them my private area aloud. I feel weird saying “vagina”,“penis” etc aloud… but I’m sure I will get used to it since I know I need to teach my kids better than what little I was told! I don’t think my hubby would be so keen hearing those words from our kids since I know his mom didn’t go over things with him either.

As for breastfeeding… ugh some people just don’t keep their unwanted opinions to themselves so I just wouldn’t talk to those people about it. So our lives are trouble-free currently 🙂 I do know that my dd nurses much less now as she eats more. I’m not worried about how long she wants too go on for.

Thanks for this thread OP. haha, it was enlightening.

It’s the on-going “i’m a better mom than you. and I have such a great purpose in life” because I breastfeed syndrome that a large percentage of America isn’t buying. wow, you’re so special and important because you breastfeed. Dont let anyone tell you differently
your message is respectfully your message, but it’s so full of anger, that people are going to miss your point entirely.

women ain’t so bad. no better than men. people are people.
