I am interested in hearing from wives who went from full-time employment to choosing to stay home full-time. How did it affect your marriage? How did it affect your finances? Do you recommend it?
We don’t have children, so part of me feels guilty about wanting to stay home. But we are just both very stressed out right now, and I’m thinking staying home would take a lot of stress off of my husband (and myself). We both work about 45 hours per week, and it seems like all of our free time is spent running errands, and taking care of household things. We would have less money, of course. But I’m a nanny, so it’s not like I make a lot anyway. I’m thinking that we would eat out less, I could shop smarter, etc., so we could make up a lot of the pay-cut simply by me having more time to do household things. Also, his parents are starting to need a little bit of help with car rides, things like that. Any thoughts?
