If I may ask, who is your patron saint? Regardless of who he is, study him. I would also recommend you study St. Augustine, if St. Augustine is not your patron. I advocate prayer to and studying St. Augustine quite frequently, and here is why:
If you are trying to get out of a particular sin, St. Augustine lived that.
If you are an intellectual, St. Augustine was one of the greatest thinkers the West has ever seen.
If you are struggling with Grace, St. Augustine wrote extensively on Grace, and as such, is the Doctor of Grace.
If you are a convert, St. Augustine was that.
If you love Scripture, St. Augustine loved that.
If you question some aspect of Church teaching, St. Augustine at one time did such as well.
If you love your mother, St. Augustine did that.
