Imagine what could be if people and nations united in peace and cooperation. Could such a world thrive in reality? Or is such a happening dependent upon the Second-Coming of Christ?
1) Ignorant of Human Nature, the Human environment and Physics (as all of these are [and will be] ***permanent*** pressures against such a utopia until the return of our LORD [at which time the Bible says they will be, at least temporarily, worse]). Or,
2) Attempting to fool you.
What’s preventing a world-wide government? I think we’re headed in that direction, but it may take another century to achieve.Exactly - Imagine a perfect world, then slap yourself for wasting time daydreaming.
N O W H E R E - Is the exact location in the Bible where we are instructed to attempt to create one.
Anyone suggesting that one is possible is either:
Code:1) Ignorant of Human Nature, the Human environment and Physics (as all of these are [and will be] ***permanent*** pressures against such a utopia until the return of our LORD [at which time the Bible says they will be, at least temporarily, worse]). Or, 2) Attempting to fool you.
This idea of world government is wrong for so, so many reasons, but I’ll sum every single one of them up with one, three word statement:Imagine what could be if people and nations united in peace and cooperation. Could such a world thrive in reality? Or is such a happening dependent upon the Second-Coming of Christ?
“One world under God”This idea of world government is wrong for so, so many reasons, but I’ll sum every single one of them up with one, three word statement:
Man is flawed.
No matter how perfect an institution is, no matter how well it stands, no matter how large it is, no matter how balanced it is, if it is run by man, it WILL, I repeat, WILL eventually fail, and the bigger it is, the harder it will fall. Only God can hold a government in perfect harmony for any extended period of time before without failure.
That is absolutely irrelevant to what I just said. What point are you attempting to get across?“One world under God”
That with God, all things are possible. That is absolutely irrelevant to what I just said. What point are you attempting to get across?
You are correct. That with God, all things are possible.
ABSOLUTELY TRUEThat with God, all things are possible.
Well, it didn’t even work on a small scale in the early-mid 19th century (they were inspired by St. Thomas More’s ‘Utopia’"). I doubt it will work on a large scale.Imagine what could be if people and nations united in peace and cooperation. Could such a world thrive in reality? Or is such a happening dependent upon the Second-Coming of Christ?
I don’t see it as a utopia per se, but a peaceful and cooperative place where we thrive together awaiting salvation by the second coming of the Messiah.ABSOLUTELY TRUE
However more stupid and evil ideas have been posited under the guise of being a “Christian” notion/purpose or ideal than hell can hold. (Look at the arguments for gun control)
IF WE ARE GOING TO DO “UTOPIA” WE ARE GOING TO DO IT MY WAY…
There could be cooperation among the nations without the need of a world government. Creating one only makes sure that if things get sour in my own nation (i.e., through forced recognition of “marriages” and persecution of those who will not), then I will have no other place to escape to.Imagine what could be if people and nations united in peace and cooperation. Could such a world thrive in reality? Or is such a happening dependent upon the Second-Coming of Christ?
So, like the Church?I don’t see it as a utopia per se, but a peaceful and cooperative place where we thrive together awaiting salvation by the second coming of the Messiah.
I long for HIS return as well. HIS WILL be done.I don’t see it as a utopia per se, but a peaceful and cooperative place where we thrive together awaiting salvation by the second coming of the Messiah…
We live in anything but a Democracy! A two party system where, for the most part, we are free to choose Democrat or Republican? This is Democracy? Lobbyist, they are the ones that get laws passed. Except for a few measures, we vote on very little.I long for HIS return as well. HIS WILL be done.
However, I long too for the day people stop selling PAP, as it is DANGEROUS, and absolutely counter-productive to “world peace.” It consumes my energies, in the necessitated bracing against all that typically follows such folly.
GOD PROVIDES ALL, but Might Makes Right by mere providence of spare opportunity. And all providence of charity comes from the surplusses created in the bounty of Democracy and Capitalism more than any other. STILL if ANYONE is out there saying these should be compulsory, they too are wrong, and as malfeasant and damnable as communism and socialism.
You are right. We live in a Republic, which is what was intended. We may have strayed from the ideals of a republic. But a democracy would surely be dangerous. We live in anything but a Democracy! A two party system where, for the most part, we are free to choose Democrat or Republican? This is Democracy? Lobbyist, they are the ones that get laws passed. Except for a few measures, we vote on very little.
