Nobody is recommending non-cooperation. There is a lot of cooperation that goes on everywhere. Co-operation is not prohibited. But when cooperation is mandated, it is no longer cooperation, is it?
Everyone believing they are right will prevent a world-wide government. Cooperation takes compromise, and not everyone will have their way all the time. I can guarantee that traditional Catholics/devout Muslims/devout anyone wouldn’t be a part of this world-wide government because they would have to have everything go their way, and all the laws would have to be based on their religion. Unless one is willing to compromise there is no cooperation. What’s preventing a world-wide government? I think we’re headed in that direction, but it may take another century to achieve.
“Love thy neighbor as oneself” is very consistent with a world-wide government.
the federation always struck me as a junta run by starfleet admirals. maybe something like late western roman empire times, with the emperor often a figurehead of some army faction. The post-Picard, post-replicator Federation is hardly a utopia, as becomes increasingly clear by Deep Space 9. It’s not really explained how society or the near post scarcity economy on Earth functions or how resources are allocated or work is done, except for Roddenbury idealistically insisting humans no longer have money.
And as well as external warfare with rival empires that kills uncountable billions with terrifying weapons, there’s also a fair number of internal problems: bureaucratic infighting, shady and dubious secret services with unchecked power, domestic insurgencies (e.g. the Marquis), etc. And almost everyone we meet - even off-ship - seems to work for either the military or the state.
and groups like that would eventually turn on their own kind, if not traditional enough. its a losing proposition every way you look at it.Everyone believing they are right will prevent a world-wide government. There can’t be ‘unity’ in a group if just one person thinks they are right and the rest of the group is wrong because that person would not be able to compromise their beliefs. Cooperation, to some people, is agreeing with them. Cooperation to others is compromising so that everyone and their beliefs is represented. Everyone belonging to this hypotetical world government would have to accept not winning every arguement all the time.Your attitude is so negative. Surely there is room for unity within this world.
Absolute fantasy. Name one government in the world that is not ruled by one leader at the top.The world government needs not be a single person, but a group of individuals of a political think tank (perhaps a corporation).
You’ve got advisors galore, who are the true government.Absolute fantasy. Name one government in the world that is not ruled by one leader at the top.
the USA is not run by one leader at the top.Absolute fantasy. Name one government in the world that is not ruled by one leader at the top.
How many presidents does the USA have at one time? Who did people blame for the Iraq war? Did they blame more than one person equally? There’s a reason why they say the president has the “bully pulpit”.the USA is not run by one leader at the top.
not relevant. the USA has a legislative, judicial and executive system with formal checks and balances. the executive branch is not superior to the other two. Obama is not elected “leader”.How many presidents does the USA have at one time?

you need a civics lesson.Who did people blame for the Iraq war? Did they blame more than one person equally, or does the blame always come back to Bush even though everyone voted for the war together? There’s a reason why they say the president has the “bully pulpit”.
You need to answer the question.you need a civics lesson.
There is no other single elected official in the United States with equal power to the president.Presidency of the United States of America, chief executive office of the United States. In contrast to many countries with parliamentary forms of government, where the office of president, or head of state, is mainly ceremonial, in the United States the president is vested with great authority and is arguably the most powerful elected official in the world. I don’t need to answer anything. but you need a civics lesson. you have a comic book view of government that prevents you from having a rational discussion. You need to answer the question.![]()
All you are doing is basically like name calling. If you have something besides name calling why don’t you provide it?I don’t need to answer anything. but you need a civics lesson. you have a comic book view of government that prevents you from having a rational discussion.

the executive branch is the equal of the judiciary and legislative branch. Obama is more powerful than either. this is junior high civics. You need to answer the question.

That’s the point.

Other branches require a consensus of a group of people in order to act. The president has powers that he can act with alone.the executive branch is the equal of the judiciary and legislative branch. Obama is more powerful than either. this is junior high civics.
I’m not going to try to guess what you’re talking about. you’re not making sense. respond when and if you learn what “separation of powers” and “checks and balances” mean.Other branches require a consensus of a group of people in order to act. The president, has powers that he can act with alone.
Do you see the difference?

The powers of the president can’t be opposed by any branch unless the other branch (s) can come to a consensus as a group. Sometimes this doesn’t happen, and the can gets kicked down the street. But by the time they do, if ever, the president already did what he wanted to do. Therefore, the POTUS has more immediate power than any other office in the US government. Therefore, the POTUS is the one man in government with the most power. He’s also considered by many, to include Forbes, to be the most powerful man in the world because of him having so much power as the leader of what many would argue is the most powerful nation on earth.I’m not going to try to guess what you’re talking about. you’re not making sense. respond when and if you learn what “separation of powers” and “checks and balances” mean.
ten minutes of this and I already need a drink.
I’ve lost interest in discussing this with you. read up on the issues first. The …)
