Impeach Trump?

Removing him from office without extremely good evidence of criminal wrong-doing will be received by many of our countrymen as a political coup d’état. We really need to avoid that.

Indeed, the scream by the losing side in every election to impeach, six months after the ballot boxes are stored, is already making the other powers look askance at us.
Some of us remember that the effects of Watergate lasted a lot longer than a politically crippled Nixon Administration would have. If we have to go there, we should have the courage to do it, but let’s not go there again if we don’t have to. That would be lunacy.

Preserving the right to life by not funding murder of children is also extreme. I would love to see obama plucked off a beach to stand trial as a mass murderer!!!

Bill Clinton was “fully” impeached. he was not removed from office. Impeachment does not mean you are removed from office.

The push for impeachment has a two fold objective. 1. To delegitimize and make impotent the executive branch. And two, it’s the 2018 midterm strategy, a push or impeachment that fails is what the democrats are hoping for. To campaign on anything except thier platform or issues. With most of the states against thier platform, taking both or any houses of congress based on thier platform is non existent.

Do you really think the majority of US Catholics, who by the way voted for Trump by a non-trivial margin, were voting to deny people health care?

Alot of peoples prayers were answered when Hillary Clinton did not become president.

Impeaching a president is a very serious matter for which very serious crimes would have to be committed. And even then it doesn’t mean a president would be forced out of office. 👍 I’m not his biggest fan (I’m extremely tired of the"worship" of him I’ve seen), but all the calls for impeachment are ridiculous.

Hardly.

The first ever presidential impeachment, of Andrew Johnson in 1868, was politically driven (he was a Southerner in the wake of the War between the States, and his policies, reminiscent of Lincoln, were unsatisfactory to Northern Republicans). Yet after he survived impeachment and served out his term, the Nation went on to its height.

We’d survive it again, although, next to WW3 or Great Depression 2, it would be the last thing we needed.

And Trump lied about making Mexico pay for a wall. Personally, I think Congress should be able to remove a president for whatever reason they want. They are the ones who answer to the people.

No, for the most part they were voting against abortion. But important as that is, His Holiness is right, it is NOT the only issue.

Mine were too. In my opinion, Trump has two virtues. He defeated Hillary and he appointed Gorsuch. Now, he is expendable. So if the democrats want to impeach him my response is good luck.
