Cyborgs have stepped out of science fiction and into real life with a small but growing group of tech aficionados who are getting tiny computer chips implanted into their bodies to do everything from opening doors to unlocking computer programs.

*Graafstra did much the same, only the three-by-13 millimetre chip was put under the skin of his left hand by a surgeon. A second one, measuring two-by-12 millimetres, is in his right hand.

Using his computer skills, Graafstra was able to modify the locks on his car and his house so they would be activated by a built-in reader.

Graafstra, whose book RFID Toys is already listed on Amazon.com and due out in February, said he got the idea from pets’ tags.

“I’m a project, gadget-builder kind of guy and I saw cats and dogs getting these tags and I spent a few years thinking about the different ways they could be used,” he said.

It was only when he came upon non-proprietary parts that he could hack up to use in his own applications that Graafstra asked a surgeon he knew to implant the tiny tag in his left hand. It was a five-minute operation with a scalpel and the tag sits under the skin in the webbing between his thumb and index finger. That was last March, but most recently Graafstra had the second chip implanted, this time with an injector needle by a family doctor.*

An IMPLANT is quite probably the way what is decribed in Rev. 11 would be accomplished, and would originally be sold as making identity theft difficult if not impossible.

I believe this is something to be careful about.

Unlocking doors? What if there is a power failure or the unit goes bad. I quess they are out of lock then (yes the pun was intentional:p ).

I predict that in the future, infants will have micro-cell-phones implanted into their inner ear shortly after birth. This will save a lot of wear and tear on the elbows during the teen years. (The implant will, of course, include GPS along with one’s social security number.)

No need. The implant will also report your medical status directly to your doctor’s office and tell you when to report in for further diagnostics–both physical and electronic.

John’s talking about the military brand, which marked a legionary soldier. While in service, it allowed deserters to be identified. After they retired it entitled them to Roman citizenship (which meant special commercial rights) and to land and other benefits.
 
could I also get a global positioning device implanted at the same time, so when I get in my car, drive off, arrive at a destination with no idea how I got there or what I am doing there, I can beep somebody to tell me where I am and what I was supposed to be doing there? right now we Winter Texans wear ID badges from our RV parks so if we get lost at the grocery store or burger king they know where to ship us back, I would like to do this more hi-tek.

Thank you, this is really why I’m interested in these. I speculate that the chip in itself is not evil, but eventually during such a time the mark of the Beast would be a chip that specifically holds his information. Perhaps all people on earth would have these chips and only the privaleged (those that support the antichrist) will be updated for access to buy and sell in the market.

Other potential uses I hear are those carrying medical information, and with concerns to weapons and guns, only policemen and soldiers with a certain chip can activate the weapon for use. Perhaps a good or bad thing?
 
Bah! Same things were said about the SSN & Barcodes! More recently debit cards & RFID. All just a bunch of end-timer hogwash! :rolleyes:
