Ooooooooooooo, now I get it. The SDA church made a prediction and now they’ve produced a video to demonstrate that they were right all along. Well, I suppose that settles the matter. :rolleyes:

I wonder why the Vatican never thought of that.

Because the Church’s teaching against torture is unambiguous.

Also, Mark Shea who blogs at Catholic and Enjoying It! Has been covering this topic and warning about it from the beginning. Also, Zippy Catholic has blog devoted exclusively to the subject, so the SDA hardly has the market cornered. 🙂

Sorry to be so insistant on being direct, but as you can see it is like interupting someone telling a long joke that you have already heard; saving much time and embarassment.

I know and always have known all my life there will come a day when people will be tortured and/or put to death in the last days for their faith and for the SDA, keeping the seventh day Sabbath. This video just shows how close those days are now.

Oh-Ill have to add now that I have read the rest of the thread I didnt know this was tied to an SDA rant. To think peple will be tortured becuase they worship on Saturday instead of Sunday is even sillier than the initial proposition. Guess Ill quit going to Mass on saturay night…

Well, my understanding is that this is soley based within the confines of the Military. While I don’t make light of the implications of the law nevertheless the Military has always laws that do not directly match our civil ones.

Now, if we were to come under military law then we would all be directly affected. However, if we were to come under military juristiction I think it would be assumed that our liberties would be curtailed. After all that’s how military regimes work.

Unless I’m missing something I don’t really see where that this “new” law really changes much of anything?

I don’t hate Bush…hate in not a part of my vocabulary.

I guess you aren’t paying attention to what is being said in the video…oh well, I never really expected anything less I guess.

Well without trying to be offensive (and I mean that) I’m not interested in a “packaged” video. One can make anything sound like what they want it to when they have an aggenda. I’d rather go to source and see it for what it is. Again that isn’t meant as a slam only that I preferr to draw my on conclusions on things like this.

I only got to give a short glance through on document so I could be wrong in my initial thoughts. I’ll take a look deeper later I’m at work and so I don’t have the time for that sort of analysis. Governments are evil so I’m not necessarily discounting you on your opinions on this. It just didn’t strike me at first but we’ll see.
 
Goitalone, don’t be to diappointed in us, it is just hard to get all worked up about something like this video. We need more proof than some guy spouting his theory (that’s all it is a theory) I would suggest you do some research on the bill. Read and understand the bill itself and then you can come to us with a more sound accusation than some guy in a video. Anyone can make a video and tell you anything he wants, it doesn’t make it true!

Yep that’s why I take politic commentary with a grain of salt.
News these days is not “real” news it’s loaded with somebody’s agendas. :eek:

And political reporters/annalist can say what they want and it doesn’t make it “true” or “real”.
