You are wrong.
Now that I have re-read what the Pope said with less speed in order to absorb and digest the content I see exactly what he is referring to.
We should have remained, leaving was selfish. Now we have no voice in the EU, no one to share the focus on what is best for the common good of each other.
The EU is by no means perfect and perhaps never can be, but while we were in there at least our government was assisting in the effort to make it better.

and i do mean unfortunately because he does say a lot of good, clear stuff too.
if you have a nation vote democratically for independence (especially the poorer sections) and the political and media elites berate them for it, I don’t think it is a good look to appear to stand with the political and media elites against the majority of the people.
Balance, understanding and respect is needed for an outsider with the dignity and respect of the pope to comment IMHO.
Not sure he got the balance right here. I would like to hear more from him on this subject.

This is an argument (one-sided rhetoric at best) not a question.
It is no shame upon His Holiness. I am sure he does not feel any shame for preaching the message of Jesus, even when if falls on deaf ears. It is no shame to be a follower of Christ first, with political allegiance subservient to moral teaching.

Yes this is somewhat more balanced. Much of the reporting and analysis of the Brexit result by media was extremely unbalanced and narrow minded.
It would be good not to be seen as associated with such a reaction.
