I’m at the crossroads of my vocation, and the past few months have been a crisis of sorts for me. Today, I had an awakening of the extent of what I have done slowly at first, now more obvious when after talking to my director, she told me that she was angry, I just kept repeating the same things without acting on them and I could see she was frustrated with me. She usually would not leave the room immediately after we talk, but this time, she left even before I could get my things ready and stand up. I’m so frustrated with myself. I went to prayer, and am now trying to begin again with a more constant struggle regarding my defect of going into moodiness and refusing to make an effort to be happy. It is now totally scaring me. I want to be faithful to the path God has initially shown for me, yet my actions and attitudes have been to the contrary. I already know that my director prays for me. Please say a prayer for me. We are set to speak about the matter again early next week.

Will do. Discerning vocations is always quite a journey. I’ve had meetings with spiritual directors before and it’s disheartening for me to see when I seem to be in the same place each meeting. But God works in us and though growth is gradual, it is still there.

I’ll keep you in my prayers.

Praying that you act upon what you and your spiritual director decide you should do, and praying that you don’t get down about your situation, but experience real hope in whatever your true vocation is. Peace!

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen.

Prayer for God’s Guidance
Father in Heaven,
You made me Your child
and called me to walk in the Light of Christ.
Free me from darkness
and keep me in the Light of Your Truth.
The Light of Jesus has scattered
the darkness of hatred and sin.
Called to that Light,
I ask for Your guidance.
Form my life in Your Truth,
my heart in Your Love.
Through the Holy Eucharist,
give me the power of Your Grace
that I may walk in the Light of Jesus
and serve Him faithfully.

Thank you. Just knowing that there are people praying for me has given me hope and encouragement to go on.

A Novena Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Sacred Heart of Jesus, we know that there is but one thing impossible to You: to be without pity for those who are in suffering or distress. Look down on us, we beg of You and grant us the grace which we humbly and earnestly implore, through the Immaculate Heart of Your most sorrowful Mother to whom You confided us as her children, and whose prayers are all powerful with You. Amen.

Here’s one:

Lord help me
to remember
that nothing
is going to happen
to me today
that You and I
together can’t handle.

will place you in the garden of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary…

Praying that Jesus will give you the courage and strength to do what you need to do …

Prayers for Hope and Comfort
Prayer Attributed to St. Augustine
Watch, dear Lord, with those who wake or watch or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend your sick ones, O Lord Jesus Christ, rest your weary ones, bless your dying ones, soothe your suffering ones, shield your joyous ones, and all for your love’s sake. Amen.

Let Nothing Disturb You
Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing frighten you. All things pass. God does not change. Patience achieves everything. Whoever has God lacks nothing. God alone suffices.
God has no body now on earth but yours; no hands but yours; no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which the compassion of Christ must look out on the world. Yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good. Yours are the hands with which He is to bless His people.
Amen.
(St. Teresa of Ávila)

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safe-guard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.
