Unfortunately, I am learning that it doesn’t matter who comes to the defense of the Pope. I think if Jesus Christ was on this Earth and defended him, there would still be people calling for the Pope’s head.
I CAN’T believe Jesus would ever defend the Pope or the Church.
All the things that upset him about the ancient Jews (traditions, legalism) the Catholic Church does as do dozens of others in the name of God.
Remember the orginal sin was disobedience to God, not sex. Disobedience to follow His instructions.
Dershowitz as ususal has smelt something rotten and is playing the devil’s advocate. He has based his whole career on arguing in the face of controversy. What he believes in is the purity of the law, not in any moral justice.
The Church has known about sexual abuse since the fifties this is before the wild 60’s impacted the generations of today.
In hiding victims, the Bishops made a secret decree to silence the victim or have him excommunicated if he spoke out. Where? In document Crimen Sollicitationis enforced for 20 years by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger before he became Pope Benedict XVI this is all here in the documentary.
While protecting the pedophile, the church welcomes satan into it’s upper power suites. Didn’t a vatican priest recently say the Vatican has dozens of demons in it.

Christ came to this earth when God’s word was being corrupted for the sake of power, non-catholic’s have always seen the abuse of power in the name of God in the Catholic church. My husband a craddle born catholic is terrified to speak against the church. I am not born into the church and have different views on intellectual curiosity.
The discrimination against women, the denial of sexual rights to priests who would better serve as married men, the acceptance of mafia and their filthy money into the church, it’s reluctance to loosen the hold in reproduction to control and shame the devout. It’s encouragement of high secretacy, that only leads to wide spread distrust and disunity.
SO what do we do pick and chose… what we want to believe? or do we demand change by not attending church, not tithing or supporting the Vatican, but taking our faith else where. Public protest is the most peaceful and effect method of change, ask Richard Nixon re: the Vietnam war.
Or we can bury our heads in the sand and get butt flocked while we fail Jesus.
No one wants the Pope’s head, we want a church who’s word is rock solid - not sand.
