There have been ads all over the radio and in the papers for Catholics to come home.

"The $1 million Catholics Come Home ad campaign rolled out by the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Dioceses of Rockford and Joliet aims to reach people … — some of whom felt discomfort with church teachings and the priest sex-abuse scandal.

The series of ads, which aired on 16 channels between Christmas and the Super Bowl, featured testimonials from formerly lapsed Catholics, mini- documentaries of the church’s historic presence around the world and the message that no matter what mistakes have been made, people can find forgiveness by going back to church.

Some parishes are hosting potluck dinners and classes during the 40 days of Lent, which starts Wednesday. Priests report greater numbers in the pews and intense confessions that indicate those disclosing their sins have spent years away from the church."

Great News!**

As a prodigal son, there is nothing more beautiful than being welcomed back into the loving arms of God our Father!

It’s too bad the article focuses so much on the negative, but i guess that’s why the Chicago Tribune & so many other papers are losing readers by the millions & are bankrupt!

I tend to forget how much HATE there is for us out there until I read the comments section in online secular newspaper articles about catholicism.

Even the interviewed people surprised me. I guess I’m not surprised when I need to alter my behavior or give up something or give up my preferences to God’s fairly often. Reading the article, it seams some of these folks forget who is supposed to worship whom!
 
Amazing!👍 I hope this can spread across America and other seas. We need ALL catholics to come back home. I hope and pray that they do.
 
The population is agin and people might feel the need to get their lives in order

I think many have become disenchanted with sex and drugs and rock and roll type lifestyles

The JPII gen seems to have their heads on better than their parents or grandparents did

My husband said this once about the “Blame-game”, “whenever you point the finger at someone else, there are 3 pointing back at you”

I said, “Yup, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.”

I dare them to go to the Washington Post and publicly confess their sins. I love to see Jesus’ teaching unfold itself in modern times because they obviously haven’t clued in to the fact that these molesations are happening at random all over the world simulatenously and predominantly to teenage boys…doesn’t that seem a little odd??? Why only teenage boys? Why are we not hearing about Priests having tons of affairs if it was truly a celibacy issue? Jesus said that those who have, more will be given but those who have not, more will be taken away.

Thank you Lord Jesus for enlightening me with wisdom by the power of the Holy Spirit.

This is wonderful news! :extrahappy: Now if only more diocese would think about running such adds perhaps the churches across America would be over flowing!
