If their lobby is to stop sodomy of being a sin and wanting to be married in a catholic church, they’re wasting their time.

If by the “name” Marx you are implying Communist, you are barking up the wrong tree. In addition to that, there are some forum rules about commenting about the hierarchy; if I were you, I might review forum rules before I got too far afield.

The Church has a 2000 year histrty, give a decade or two; and there has never been a time in the history of the Church were every priest, bishop and other religious were 100% true on doctrine; the Arian heresy comes to mind just off the top of my head.

Instead of making swipes at any Cardinal, archbishop or bishop, you might consider a few things.

Hans Kung cearly strayed off the path, and he had his right to hold himself out as a Catholic teacher of theology pulled; and yet the Church has never seen fit to excommunicate him - but certainly many Catholics have seen fit to suggest he should be. Who has the wisdom - the Church or individuals?

There have been comments, from slurs to charges of outright heresy against a certain German prelate, yet the Church still holds him as a prelate in good standing - who has the wisdom - the Church or the individuals who have neither heard him speak, nor read his writings, nor spoken with any Church authorities concerning the matter, nor, for that matter, studied any theology?

If I read something that doesn’t seem to jibe with Church doctrine or morals, I don’t go around accusing the person who allegedly said whatever; I simply follow the Church. And having seen several popes quoted out of context over the years, little surprises me either of what the secular press reports, or how inaccurate they can be and how thoroughly they can spin something. Unless I have had the opportunity to actually hear the individual make a comment, and heard the full comment, I know that I lack sufficient information upon which to for an opinion as to that person’s integrity or faithfulness to the Church.

I would suggest you might wish to consider doing the same.

No Im talking about the name Marx as in Cardinal Reinhard Marx of Germany. How is that taking a swipe at him? Read his views on the issues , I only said that there might be more people with similar views to him among the other bishops.
