  1. Rifle, you say? What caliber?
  2. If you were going into shock, how do you know what you said?
  3. Evidence may have been sufficient to arrest you, even if you are innocent - that’s just how the system works.
  4. Pass a polygraph and the prosecutor will drop the charge like a brick.

I have already said prayers for you and a resolution in your favor. I feel very bad for you.
This isn’t even about hunting, it’s about the fact that you were truthful but still found yourself in trouble. I will continue to keep you in my prayers. One thing, you have to get legal representation, because cops stick together and things could go south for you before you know what is happening. I will continue to pray for all involved. Good luck and blessings.

  1. .204Ruger which is a varmint cartridge designed to shoot at long distance (100-300 yards) over a field and certainly not in heavy cover where the distances are short and the quarry would be blown to bits. The only reason to harvest muskrat is for the pelts. Any varmint caliber like what I had would completely ruin the pelt. Besides that in the spring and summer fur is worthless anyway because they have shed the winter coat. Also, muskrats are nocturnal and I was in the field from 10:30AM-2:10PM
  2. As I told the officer he may well have heard something different than I intended to say. Based on past experience when my sugar was low I have stuttered and slurred my words. He wouldn’t listen.
  3. There was absolutely no evidence. No pelts, meat, or anything else.
  4. I NEVER thought about a polygraph. I know they are not used in court, but he might be willing to drop the charges when I pass. GREAT idea. :hug1:
