I don’t know much about the content of Curious George in the past (the original books, etc.) but the current TV show is absolutely harmless (except George should probably get some more discipline for the mischief he gets into, and why on earth does the Man in the Yellow Hat never learn that he shouldn’t leave his monkey alone?) My kids really like it and there’s usually some interesting math and science-related learning thrown in there, too.
Some dolls are pretty awful, but you can get a basic baby doll for not much money that can provide a LOT of playtime. My younger son likes to play with his older brother’s cloth doll (which is a bit of a “lovey” so my older son can be pretty possessive of it) so I am thinking of getting him his own. They like to put the doll down for naps, feed it with their play kitchen, and the other day I even heard my older son put it in time out (doing a shockingly good imitation of me, I might add.

)
There are a lot of awful toys, but I wouldn’t classify most of them as immoral. My husband and I put a box together of toys for donation from the boys’ Christmas gifts. I know the relatives who gave them were well-intentioned, but I am not willing to slowly lose my mind with the endless noise and corresponding battery-buying.
