Ah yes, but Rome recently ruled that the local Church belongs to the people. You can’t have it both ways, either you lose a few Churches to the protestants or you lose a few few diocese when they are sold to pay for the sex abuse scandal.

Actually, if you read the story. They formed a community outside the church. Therefore they are no longer Catholic despite what they say. In fact, I believe a number of them have been excommunicated (including Callan story]).

True, but I was responding to Isidore_AK’s post abour seizing the currently held property which was aquired after the excommunucation in 1999. The Bishop has no authority over them since the had already separated themslved from the Church.
