I heard “ID is creationism in a cheap suit.” YEC is more like the clown, with the Ark Experience. The Fundies even had a “Golgotha Fun Park” until recently!

I was being sarcastic.
I think the Global Warming conspiracy theorists should be laughed out of the room (metaphorically) whenever they open their mouths at respected scientific forums.

Yes, in the narrow sense we use for science in classrooms today. It fits the definition of science that includes philosophy.

You’re thinking backward. *The term we may not utter *is not true because 99.9% of biologist accept it; rather, they accept it because it offers a cogent explanation of the evidence.

They are, at least in my experience. The National Center for Science Education has added a full time climate change person to their staff to monitor AGW denial, as it already monitors denial of the theory of which we may not speak.

It seemed to be the “best explanation” until recently. Their is a paradigm shift going on as we speak. You know - you could jump on board now and be on the leading edge. 🙂

Buffalo, I assumed you would be an AGW denier, as that often goes in hand with E denial. To complete the picture, you should also adopt vaccine denial, continental drift denial, and gravity denial.

The only paradigm shift is in your dreams. Have you ever attended a science conference? If you do in the future, and you find this paradigm shift among E-rejecting biologists please let me know. And don’t toss int he red herring of the Altenburg Sixteen, because they don’t help you ID cause at all.

Funny, in my life as a Christian, I have never been asked to shut off my brain. My pastor is well aware that I believe in "old earth" creation. We are a body of believers connected by our belief in Christ's divinity, and His sacrifice of Himself for human salvation. One has much more freedom to express oneself within the church than one has in a conference of 10,000 (mostly atheist) biologists. It's amazing that virtually every biologist believes in something that he has never seen, and that no experiment can reproduce. OR, have they learned their lesson by seeing others fired at universities and magazines for expressing their REAL opinions re TOE? There was more diversity of thought at a Stalin speech. :p Rob

"Denier"? After the purloined "scientific" e-mails were released, it takes a LOT of blind faith to accept AGW. I REFUSE to join the *hoax* deniers. I don't think that among evolution skeptics you will find many opposed to most vaccines, or any who gives the issues of gravity or continental drift a passing thought. Ah yes, that is the way of the left, to IMPOSE its agenda through coercion. It's none of the federal government's business what local districts do. The Education Department does not educate a single child, but they HAVE successfully used the force of law to *dumb down* education. I'm old enough to know that schools were 100% better 40 years ago, when locals made their OWN determinations for their OWN kids! :shrug: Rob.

Is it coercion for the government to tell schools they may not teach as science the African creation myth of Bumba vomiting forth the universe? Would you really want schools to be on their own, some teaching modern science, others teaching that the earth sits on the back of a giant turtle, and that it’s “turtles all the way down?”
