Brother Philip, vice principal at Holy Cross School in Whitefield, is currently in hospital recovering from a beating he received last Saturday. The religious tells AsiaNews that he has forgiven his attackers but that he wants guarantees for Christian missionaries who serve Indian society.

I’m no student of the Hindu religion, but doesn’t the “caste” one belongs to under Hindu belief come from the ‘Karma’ that person accumulated in his ‘previous’ life? Therefore someone poor and ignorant is so because he deserves it from crimes committed in his previous life?

I can certainly see how those with such a religious worldview would feel threatened by the teachings of Jesus. Those from the ‘upper class castes’ anyways…

Unfortunately, Muslim Persection of Christians has dominated the attention of most Christians lately, ignoring the persecution of Christians by other religions----Hinduism and Communist Atheist China particulalry. This is intolerable.
Let us pray for the Christians in India and other Non-Middle Eastern Countries.
I’m embarassed that I once leaned towards Hinduism.
