Innocuous Question - Mass at Disney World

A cab to Mary Queen of the Universe and back will be about 60-70. If you are interested there is also a bus service called LYNX that you can take from Downtown Disney. The bus leaves from the marketplace at Downtown Disney and makes a stop at the Premium Outlet Mall on Vineland which is right across the street from the church. If you have young kids though, a cab is worth it to skip the bus ride.

Just get a card from the taxi driver and call the dispatch when you are ready to leave Mass.

They used to but that stopped when the shrine was built. It’s more inconvenient to Disney guests but it was a better use of the Church’s resources for Orlando overall since there wasn’t enough to maintain both options. There’s a letter explaining the change and it’s pretty clear that was a matter of resources and not that Disney wasn’t accommodating.

My family goes to WDW more than most people. I know there was some grumbling at first but the Church is so laser focused on tourists (it isn’t a parish) it can’t get much easier if you are staying within the Disney “bubble”. And to be honest I prefer it to Mass in the restaurant now known as Ohana’s. Atmosphere and all that.

Also, the last I checked they have a Catholic Mass at the airport (i.e., the main Orlando airport).

Don’t know the times but that might fit your schedule.

By the way, the airport Mass is at 8:15 a.m. & noon on Sundays and at noon on holy days, according to the diocese website. A boarding pass is required because the chapel is in the secure area of the airport.

Just a warning - I’ve had mixed luck with this site. On one or two occasions it’s been down when I tried to use it and it has given me out-of-date information on Mass times. Make sure you double check before you make arrangements for attending Mass.

Just another comment here about how wonderful the Mary Queen of the Universe Basilica is! Also- when we were there a few years ago, they had confessions available daily. What a great thing to have in a tourist location!

We enjoy the basilica as well and will be there again over the next two weeks during our trip. My only hope\wish is that they would offer an even earlier Sunday mass. 6am would be perfect to get to mass, breakfast, and start your day by rope drop. Not sure I understand why they don’t offer anything earlier than 7:30, especially considering the nature of the location.
