Intelligent Design to Be Topic at Vatican Meeting
VATICAN CITY – The Vatican says an upcoming conference on evolution will include discussion of intelligent design, but only as a cultural phenomenon _ not as a scientific or theological issue.
Organizers of the March 3-7 conference, which marks the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s “The Origin of Species,” had originally excluded proponents of creationism and intelligent design from the conference.
