If the answer to that question is “Yes”, than Where in God’s word does it tell us to stop praying for one another and offering supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men; after we have departed this world? Especially in light of (Rev. 5:8) ?
I affirm that people pray for us in this life and in the next. But that’s not my query. I ask where it says we are to PRAY to those people.

If you are looking for a directive or an exhortation from within the Bible? None exist.
That would be most straight up and honest answer.

All we have are extrapolations and a little bit of common sense.

And we do have the examples from the Jews which btw some examples can be found in the book of Maccabees.
These are development, along with the Doctrinal Teachings and the Fighting against heresies, that arise as the time/moment demands it.
Even these later developments does not declare it a requirement to PRAY to those people. These later developments only justified it’s practice.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m a Catholic from the cradle who believes in the communion of saints. But is there ANY directive in Scripture that we should pray to them?
Pray tell, can you give us your definition of what the word “pray” means to you?

Mintaka:
Jeremiah talks about how the saint Rachel intercedes for her children and is heard by God, who addresses Rachel with comforting words. (Rachel is long dead and in her tomb, and Jeremiah is passing by the tomb.)
God here tells Rachel to stop crying. However, the text doesn’t say Rachel was interceding on behalf of her children. That’s not what I’m discussing. I’m asking if there is any biblical directive to pray to the saints.
This article traces its origins from the OT:Relics, Saints, and the Assumption of Mary | Called to Communion

And the Jewish beliefs…http://www.chabad.org/library/artic...tzaddik-to-pray-on-my-behalf.htm/mobile/false

What do you call asking, someone to pray for you, either a friend or Saint?

If I correctly remember, I asked a question. Only @JoshuaisLord has answered it.

Again, your argument is only flawed in that you become the determining factor of what is “right.”

Where in Scriptures does Christ say “Christian” or “Holy Trinity” or “Bible” or call any of the Apostles, “Apostle” or gives a list of Offices or tells the Apostles to write four Gospels or the Epistles or speaks of “Eternal Salvation?”

Since none of that is found in Scriptures, it must be that Christ did not Teach any of it, right?

Do you believe Christ Delegated His Authority to the Church?

Do you believe Christ was truthful when He stated that whatever is tied on earth is tied in Heaven and whatever is loosen on earth is loosen in Heaven?

Do you believe Christ when He states that He is going to the Father and that He will send another Paraclete that will Reveal/Unfold the fullness of Truth to the Church?

Right from the Sacred Writ we find this Unfolding taking place.

So a practice made by the Church, as with the reading of the New Testament Writings (known at first not as Sacred Scriptures [Gospels and Epistles] but was the Writing of the Apostles), actually is part of the Unfolding that the Holy Spirit has been doing throughout Church history.

Will you answer my question in a “Yes” or “No” answer? And will you at least be wise enough to quit making broad statements about Scripture that are not entirely accurate, like how Jesus never spoke of eternal salvation or He never called the apostles “apostles” when Luke clearly says He did?

I really never had realized that before. Jesus really never spoke of eternal salvation. That is all Pauline Doctrine. Not Gospel Doctrine According to Jesus Christ.

Prayer is lifting up our hearts and minds to God.
Psalm 30:4
4 Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.

Praise him, all his angels,
praise him, all his host! Psalm 148

The book of Psalms, Jesus prayer book, is full of exhortations toward creation and those in the heavens to praise the Lord.

Are we given any directive to do the same?
I suppose that depends upon how you define “we” and “directive”. The psalm is in the imperative (directive) mode, and those of us who have adopted the Psalms as Scripture would certainly understand it that way.

Is praying to the saints necessary for salvation? I am not aware of any such teaching.

I am curious why you are asking about such a directive?

There are many things that aren’t advised that are in the Psalms. One psalm literally says “Blessed are they who dash your infants across a rock.”

To coin that movie, 'we have a failure to communicate."

You are either very limited in your knowledge of Scriptures (not knowing that what you are asking (where is it written?) is not found in Scriptures or you are seeking an answer to swell up your pride (the answers given more than satisfy the need to now where the practice originates) or you truly are ignorant of things and seek a clear and concise answer that gives you a positive or negative response without resolving the root of the matter.

Now, since you are kin on specifics, could you please cite the Biblical passage where Jesus actually calls the Disciples Apostles and that/those passages where Jesus stated “eternal salvation” or “eternally saved.”

Since you are simply making a reference about what we understand after the fact, could you not see that that is exactly what I’m attempting to share with you–we do not exist in a vacuum; remove Church history and you’ve removed the development of the Church.

Okay.

Luke 6:13
And when it became day, He summoned His disciples, also having chosen out from them twelve, whom also He named apostles.

And have you ever read John 3:16 for that matter?
