And I’ve stated I don’t LIKE contemporary. I don’t like modern. I don’t like pants, I don’t like skirts over the ankles, I do not LIKE modern clothes, but has anyone listened? no! I want to wear what they wore in the 1800’s, because modern clothes are ugly! I don’t WANT to “update” the look, I don’t want to make it mainstream or modern. Talk about RUINING something BEAUTIFUL! After i rejected the first suggestion, the rest of you should have got it!In trying to provide support for the OP, you have insulted the rest of us that happen to wear jeans! You stated your were judged, too…was that because of your actual clothes or your attitude towards those who didn’t dress as you do (perhaps those that wore modest jeans…)?
What most of the posters on here have said is to not go “full costume” as though she’s on set with an 1880’s theater troupe or a member of the FLDS; instead choosing to keep part of the prairie look, but make it more contemporary with some accessories.
Maybe I will just dress like a fundamentalist Protestant. They seem to be a lot more accepting of me than YOU are.
