SOCIALIST PUBLIC SCHOOLS OR HOMESCHOOLING?

Nancy Levant
July 28, 2005

I have very little hope for this nation. The bulk of the populace is still clueless as to the Executive Orders, Acts, and partnership bureaucracy system that have turned our Constitutional Republic into a new banana republic. The ongoing ignorance of the masses is beyond all comprehension and reason.

The Southwestern U.S and the West Coast have become a foreign and illegal nation. Every Constitutional right is under perpetrated and highly orchestrated attack, and still the masses watch TV, sports, drink beer, and do and say nothing. Most don’t even know that anything has changed. And why is that? Because public education has changed American people into silent, sacrilegious, non-reading, pleasure-seeking, group-thinking morons – that’s why. I remember reading a study about 30 years ago on the educational effects of computers coupled with television. The study concluded that the TV-computer combo, and the over stimulation of visual senses, was detrimental to reading and writing skills. Gee, do ya think?? However, the public school system was to be the saving grace. Pour more money into the public schools, incorporate computer technology into classrooms, and American schools could guarantee the best public education in the world. And for the past 30+ years, American schools have choked on their promises to deliver.

A short course in the history of public schools:

Abnormality, Thy Name is Homeschool

*This essay is based in large part on . .“Deception: Catholic Education in America” and John Taylor Gatto¬ís “Underground History of American Education.” *

“Deception” came out earlier this month. Anyone read it or know of a review in a Catholic source? The title sounds as if Jack Chick wrote it but I believe the book is a call for restoration.

Wow! I learned something today. Now I am thinking even more about bringing the kids home when each one reaches middle school to homeschool. I know I don’t have the patience or organizational skills to homeschool them all full time (and the elementary school here is good), but I am going to make my husband read this and see what he says about homeschooling then. (He is against it so far) I want to try this with my oldest daughter next year.

My older boys are homeschooled I tried the local highschool and after a teacher attacked his Religion and he was threatened by other kids because he turned down drugs I was through:mad:

I recall reading an essay by John Stuart Mill who cautioned against government run schools. He didn’t think any government should have that much control over children.

As far as the U.S. goes, the earliest government schools were really Protestant schools, with regular bible reading (KJV) and prayer. That caused the Catholics to begin their own school system. Now we have formally secularist schools.

I think it is impossible for a school system to keep from imparting a worldview and a set of approved values, of whatever sort–in other words, a religion.

Consequently, it seems that public schools are probably unconstitutional, because they constitute an establishment of religion, operated by the state.

I don’t know the writer, but she seems focused on developing a strong following with very strong statements. Who is she to state who deserves to be called a parent? This statement of hers gives the impression she lacks sound judgement.
If you are not homeschooling your children in the 2005-2006 school year, then you are no parent, nor should you be. If you refuse to protect your children from Socialist-Communist indoctrination, then you are not a true citizen of this nation. If you use your employment as the excuse to send your beloved children into governmental indoctrination centers, you will get what you deserve when your children stand against you.
She leaves no room even for parents that send their children to a Catholic school establishment. While they are not perfect, most homeschooling parents have their share of faults as well. I’m not against homeschooling by any means (I’ve been discussing with my wife the possibility of me (that’s right, the father) homeschhooling our son.

Sin against a theological virtue?

Assertion without evidence combined with ad hominem.

Ad hominem.

Didn’t really see the point of reading much more than this. I guess the writer wasn’t taught one of the cardinal rules of writing: Catch and keep your reader’s interest.
