My eyelashes are so long I can’t wear mascara or they hit my glasses.
I had the same problem, before I switched to contacts. Now if only my lashes would curl… But they’re as straight as my hair.

My oldest daughter was born on my birthday!🙂
Me too! I think I already posted this before, but my oldest was born on my bday too! I was born the day after my mom’s, my oldest sister was born on my mom’s bday (the day before mine). My mom and I were married the same month, 28 years and some days apart, and had our first babies (honeymoon babies) 28 years and 1 day apart. In total my mom had 4 kids. My mom and my sis share a bday, mine is the next day. Then my other sis and bro have their birthdays one day after the other. To make things more complicated I got married on my bro’s bday (the day after my second sister’s bday). It wasn’t on purpose, it just happened to be the day that was available in the time frame we wanted to get married.

I have a cousin who just had a baby the day before her birthday.

When I worked for the Senate, I was known by many legislative assistants for the Senators as well as the attorneys and staff I worked with as the 4p.m. wake up call because I was so loud and chipper when I answered the phones in the afternoon (and I’m not even a coffee drinker).

I ususally do a sommersault within the last few weeks before leaving a place of employement (after I’ve given my notice, usually down a hallway of my place of employment or next to a cubicle). The only place I didn’t do this at was the restaurant I worked for and that’s because the floors were solid cement without any carpeting anywhere.

Alot of people have played already but I wanna play too!!

Ive been to the Atlantic coast, the Gulf coast and the Pacific coast. Something I thought I would never do.

At almost 44 I can still 80’s dance( to my daughters horror:eek: )

And if I could live in any other era besides this one it would be the 40’s…love the music.

Let’s see:

I’m the only one in my family to have broken a bone (I fractured two of the bones in my right foot and dislocated a toe on that same foot though not at the same time).

When I’m at home, I go barefoot even when it’s freezing because I can’t stand to wear socks.

I lived in Belfast for a year.

I live in Oregon and love the rain. (I think that may make me a little crazy.)

I traveled in Europe on my own and on the fly. I never made plans and went where I felt. I didn’t go many places but it was still awesome.

I have two bachelors: a Bachelor of Art in Anthropology and Sociology and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, which I just graduated with and with a perfect 4.0.

I am the only one out my sisters and myself who has a college degree.

I like cowboy poetry.

I’ve been mistaken for being Norweigen and Canadian.

I’ve studied and/or minored in 4 other languages: German, Spanish, Chinese, and Irish.

Originally from Arizona, I miss the 100+ heat and laugh when people in Oregon think 80 is hot.

I can figure out the plot of a movie within the first ten to twenty minutes and will still watch the movie even though I know what’s going to happen.

At work, I can identify a product just by the style number, especially for certain types of products.

Okay since you are all divulging such secrets here goes:

I am continually defending the spiritual realm on this forum which has no physical evidence but in my profession I am a scientist and must have quality control and numerous studies, objective criteria, etc., etc. to prove anything. lol

I too have a secret stash of candy.

I really don’t like heights but subject myself to them anyway for the sweet adrenaline rush. I once went up the face of a huge sandstone mountain in NM to get to an ancient Anasasi dwelling. Every step was so scary I almost barfed.

I was once alone in a forest in Alaska with no one else around and came upon a bear. I actually took a picture of it and ran. Yep it was just God and myself and the bear. Whew

I won’t kill anything, not even a spider in my house; I just capture it and take it outside. This was a challenge once when I had a Hugh millipede in my place. Ah, I swept it outside with the broom but I was really tempted to kill it so it wouldn’t come back.

I love alligators, but I live in Southern Florida

Oh there’s more, much more…

Occasionally I have dreams that come true, so did my Mom

My beauty secret, moisturize, moisturize and then moisturize.

My Mom gave me a bible in the 70’s it stayed like new for 25 years now it is falling apart from use.

I am addicted to Catholic Answers Forum

Okay I’ll stop now but there is more much more…😃

As a newborn, I was dropped on the labor room floor from arm height by an inexperienced young nurse…does that explain anything? :bigyikes:

I need to go to bed but I can’t stop reading this thread. I guess I’m a poet but I don’t know it. :newidea:

Love this thread!!! So here goes:

I can do all of the weird contortions with my body that have already been mentioned; fist in mouth, weird joint bending, touch elbows (both front and back), ear wiggle, eye movements, nose flair, (but not Bewitched twitch.) And before I had babies I could also put my leg behind my head while standing, do a contortion called a “camel,” which involves kneeling and bending backwards until my face is between my feet,) and I used to dislocate my shoulders to bring my clasped hands from behind me, over my head to the front. (That last one, my mom made me stop years ago because it worried her.)

I have had a life-long dream to throw a HUGE party with everyone I know so I can thank each person for a special thing they said or did for me. I have even made lists over the years of the hundreds of people I would invite and what I want to thank them for.

I cannot talk without using my hands. Literally, actually can NOT. My acting teacher in college had my classmates hold my arms, because he wanted me to use only my voice. They eventually had to hold my head and legs because I started using them. When I was completely still, I couldn’t say a word. It was freaky.

Because of the above problem I have bumped more people in life than I care to count. I am always very apologetic and I can reign it in when I try really hard. The other odd thing is that every single person I have ever thwacked has laughed about it.

Ooh, good topics!

I have broken LOTS of bones in my 28 years. I’ve broken my left arm three times in four places, three toes on my right foot, and my right wrist.

The first time I broke my left forearm falling off the monkey bars in elementary school. The second time I got bounced off a trampoline and broke my left arm just below the shoulder. Then I dropped an anvil on my foot and broke three toes. In college I fell down a huge flight of concrete stairs at a train station and broke my left arm in two places on either side of my elbow. (Missed my train, too.) Then last year I broke my right wrist while moving - I don’t remember slamming it into anything, but the next day it was swollen. 🤷 The doctor couldn’t figure it out either.

Oh, and socks in the house - I avoid wearing socks unless it’s really cold, because I like having my feet bare. I really don’t understand why some people wear shoes in the house. It makes the place dirty, shoes aren’t that comfortable anyway, and it makes it feel like you’re just visiting your own house. I have heard some people feel really indignant when they’re asked to take off their shoes at someone else’s house. I don’t get it. Nobody ever wore shoes in the house when I was growing up, except to clean up broken glass.

I have a guardian angel who works overtime, lol. I have NEVER broken a bone… gee, I hope my guardian angel doesn’t take a lunch break now;)

**I am deathly scared of heights, but didn’t realize just how much until I was at work one day…

I worked in a grocery srore and they had a dsplay shelf over the produce section. It was maybe 7 feet up? Maybe. And it was at least 3 feet deep. So, since I like doing that kind of thing, i volunteered to go up there and create a display (I think it was those fancy oils in glass jars where you can see different fruits/vegetables/spices floating around).

Well, i was fine until it was time to come down… then i just got paralyzed. I could NOT get down and I had to be rescued by a coworker who had to carry me down:o:o:o… all with a huge audience of customers and our uniforms at the time were dresses that resembled the old style nurse uniforms. I am really surprised I ddn’t die from first the fright, and then the embarrassment:shrug:**

When I was a toddler my father took me to the park and stuck me on a swing by myself!!! lol…pushed as hard as he could and sent me flying!! LOL

I have had reconstructive surgery in my face and body due to a car accident, 3 neck fractures, was in a comma, broken legs, internal bleeding, and have half a piece of one of my legs missing… :o Its really embarrassing and it still bothers me, hopefully someday I will have enough money to fix that…

I used to donate plasma, not just for the money but I know a lot of people who need the plasma to recover from horrible diseases and problems and this helps them!! I haven’t been able to go back because it takes a lot of my energy and last time I went I got really sick stayed in bed for almost a week! 😦

Ya’ll are some interesting people. I’ve been sitting here trying to think of anything interesting about myself.

I can move my pinky toe independently of all my other toes -it can shoot almost straight out to side. It makes my husband crack up every time. My daughter can do it with both pinky toes but I can only do it with my left.

I’ve had two open heart surgeries -one at 7 months old and one at 8 years. Also had a pacemaker first implanted at age 8. I missed a bunch of school for the second open heart. Was tutored at home for half of 3rd grade and then only attended half days the rest of the year.

My pacemaker increases my heart rate when it senses movement. When I was dating my husband in high school I showed him how patting your hand over my pacemaker would speed up my heart. He would sometimes lay his head on my chest and pat my pacemaker for amusement purposes. (That sounds weirder than it seemed at the time.)

I’m adopted, my birthmom (never met) went to her parish priest for help and he sent her to live with his parents in another state until I was born. Apparently his parents bought me a layette set. My birthmom’s name was Mary.

I was with my sister when she got Bob Hope’s autograph. ( I think I was about 10 years old.)

I’ve been to France, Austria, Switzerland, Germany & Luxemburg (now there’s a small country). Also Canada but living in MI that’s kind of a given. I stood right outside Notre Dame Cathedral and didn’t go in (because I was being a ridiculous, obnoxious, sulking teenager -my mom said I would regret it and I do.)

I got married at 18 (and have been married almost 18 years now-yay!) My bestfriend (since we were 12) married at 17 (and she’s still married too-yay!)

I can not curl my tongue, flare my nostrils, wiggle my ears or any strange bodily talent except for my one pinky toe thing. I can’t even hardly whistle.

My sense of smell is annoyingly strong -I smell things that others can’t smell at all and it’s getting stronger as I get older. Really disgusting when it’s a bad smell.

My daughter looked like my hubby completely when she was born (nothing like me at all) and over the years has morphed into a mini-me. Strangers say things to us all the time when my daughter and I are out together.

Oh one last thing- few years back during a pacemaker implant (they were changing the location of my previous pacemakers) my heart went beserk so they had to shock my heart (you know like on TV). Well it woke me out of the anestesia. That was a most scary, bizarre feeling. I felt my body bounce a few inches off the table and my breath completely knocked out of me. The weird thing was in my mind I knew what it was they had done but it didn’t occur to me to be worried why they would have had to do that. I was out again a minute or so later -I think they gave me more drugs. The doctors didn’t know I remembered it but I questioned them about it after the surgery.

I’ve never broken a bone either. The only damage to my bones was a hair line fracture by my elbow from falling while roller skating in 7th grade.

I’ve also never had the chicken pox.

Well, I had the chicken pox…bad! But I forgot about the hairline fracture in my arm.

Remember “pogo balls” in the 80’s? Well, I was hopping on one and my sister thought it would be funny to use a hula hoop to pull it out from under me.:eek::eek: Good thing I fell on the cedar deck (soft, for wood) and not concrete!

Yeah…pogo balls and hula hoops… those were the days, lol.

Oh, and here is yet another interesting fact. I have been bitten on my butt…TWICE! Once by my sister (yeah, she was quite devious;)) and once by my daughter (who is a lot like my sister in many ways:rolleyes:). Both times left teeth marks and bruises.🤷

Ok here goes:

I am the youngest of 6 children…by 12 years! My oldest sibling is 21 years older than I.

I love doing geneaolgy and have traced parts of my family back to the 1300’s. I found out that my great grandfather times 12 was beheaded in switzerland for being mennonite.

I am mostly swedish and Irish with a little bit of Swiss, norweigian, and Scottish thrown in.

I am an aspiring gardener:D Every year I buy lots of veggie seeds to plant and every year we get nothing because of the extreme summer heat and the rats who like to snack on the garden. We had 6 tomato bushes last year and every single tomato had a bite out of it! GRRRRR at least we caught one of the rats so far…

I have a beautiful backyard but I am afraid to go outside in it because of the fireants and snakes:eek: I never have see so many angry bugs before moving to Texas!

I also suffer from social anxiety…which stems from poor self esteem. I am also kinda paranoid about what people think about me. I cannot bear to think that people wont like me or that I wont be accepted by some. Its silly I know…I have gotten alot better about not caring what people think or say about me:thumbsup: YAY!

I recently got my tonsils out at the age of 26, but I think it might have been a big mistake because now it seems that I have been sick with a cold 3 times since June.

I love cats and birds…not dogs because I got bit by one when I was little.

I have 2 children who became Catholic before DH or I did LOL They got baptised in Sept.

Anyways thats it I think!

I have been to beaches on the Atlantic and Pacific oceans… On the same day, traveling by car.

I can remember phone numbers from many years ago (I still know the number to the Dairy Queen I worked at when i was 16, lol) but I just cannot memorize my best friend’s phone number that she’s had for a few years:shrug:
I’ve been married 5 years and haven’t yet been able to remember my anniversary date…as in *forgetting *the date, not just forgetting to *remember *the date. (Poor DH!)

Nor have I. I’ve also never had a cavity. And hope I never get one, either!

When I was two, my mom took me to a baseball game, and during the game she noticed a toddler running around the ball field and thought to herself “What nut isn’t watching their kid?” Well, turns out SHE wasn’t watching her kid. They had to stop the game and return me to my Nut. 🙂
