Oh, and here is yet another interesting fact. I have been bitten on my butt…TWICE! Once by my sister (yeah, she was quite devious;)) and once by my daughter (who is a lot like my sister in many ways:rolleyes:). Both times left teeth marks and bruises.🤷
**
Well I was only bitten once on the butt…while babysitting back in junior high. I was babysitting a 2 1/2 year old and a 5 month old. I was reading to the older one when the baby started crying. The baby was in the play pen as I leaned over to check on him and the older one bit my on the butt. I shrieked because it hurt so bad. My shriek apparently scared him because he ran into his room. Get this, the next time I babysat the mom told me if he was misbehaving to just send him to his room for a time out and not spank him. The little bugger told his mom I spanked him -which I most certainly did not. I would never physically discipline someone else’s child. I explained to the mom what happened but I don’t think she believed me. She still kept me as a babysitter though.

Yeah I still have bite marks from when my kids were toddlers… 😊

I was born on the day Jack Ruby killed Lee Harvey Oswald. I once made a steak sandwich for Lee Marvin. I roller skated in front of John Wayne’s house a few times (I never got to see him in person, however.) I surfed in Richard Nixon’s back yard (after he had left office) and was chased off by his security detail more than once (a most excellent surf spot btw and by far my favorite, “the kind” as we used to say).

I have really enjoyed reading this.😃 It’s better than Wheel of Fortune. I usually mute the tv while I watch, except for the part where everybody introduces themselves. I love to listen to that part.😊
This thread is great because some of you who regularly post have completely blown some of my notions of what you are like.😃

I read the encyclopedia and any technical manuals I could get my hands on as kid.

also…
I delivered newspapers for my brothers when I was a little girl. They took the money. I also “said mass” in my room with the door closed. I had quite a ceremony and at the appropriate times I became the altar boy. I should have invited my brothers and taken up a collection. 😃

I had a military wedding. The ushers got a little wild with their swords at the reception. 😃

O love Latin requiem masses. :highprayer:

Ooh, good topics!

I have broken LOTS of bones in my 28 years. I’ve broken my left arm three times in four places, three toes on my right foot, and my right wrist.

The first time I broke my left forearm falling off the monkey bars in elementary school. The second time I got bounced off a trampoline and broke my left arm just below the shoulder. Then I dropped an anvil on my foot and broke three toes. In college I fell down a huge flight of concrete stairs at a train station and broke my left arm in two places on either side of my elbow. (Missed my train, too.) Then last year I broke my right wrist while moving - I don’t remember slamming it into anything, but the next day it was swollen. 🤷 The doctor couldn’t figure it out either.

Oh, and socks in the house - I avoid wearing socks unless it’s really cold, because I like having my feet bare. I really don’t understand why some people wear shoes in the house. It makes the place dirty, shoes aren’t that comfortable anyway, and it makes it feel like you’re just visiting your own house. I have heard some people feel really indignant when they’re asked to take off their shoes at someone else’s house. I don’t get it. Nobody ever wore shoes in the house when I was growing up, except to clean up broken glass.
I’m also the only one in my family who doesn’t get sick. The last time I had a cold was when I was 6. The next time I had a cold was back in February this year, 20 years later. And I knocked it out without taking anything.

I’ve got scars all over. One in and above my right eyebrow where I ran into the air conditioning vent when I was 4. That was the first and only time I ended up in the hospital and had to be put under for the stitches. I’ve got a major scar on my lift thigh from where I slid on gravel and it dug into me when I was 8. I still have a scar on the back of my right hand from when I fell of my bike that same year. My sister’s rabbit bit me on both ankles and both wrists and left scars. I have several more from work. I never do anything by halves.

I learned to go around barefoot when I was in college, the first time. The student population is made up of a lot of students from Hawaii where it’s normal not to wear shoes inside. I picked it up from them. And wearing slippers, excuse me, flip flops most of the time. Except for work or Mass.

I have an excellent sense of smell. It’s actually problematic esepecially lately since I can smell what they’re burning downstairs in their apartment and it’s nasty and greasy and gross.

I’m named for both my grandmas and my great-grandmother on my dad’s side.

When I would yell at my sisters, I gave them a second middle name instead of using their full name.

I never forget a face though it takes me a day or two to remember a name. (I have to search the mental archives.)😃

At our old house, the garage was in the backyard in front visible from the kitchen.

Bear with me, because it’s going on 2:00AM here. yawn

Anyways, several years ago when I was two, I had a interest in the garage door. One day while my mother was doing dishes I was playing outside with the automatic garage door opener. As the door was starting to rise, it just so happen that my shirt got caught on the handle and start to lift little ole me. Mother, washing dishes, hears the garage door opening and happens to look up to find her son about smashed in-between the ceiling of the garage and door. As she was running out there, my shirt ripped a couple of feet before that and I fell on top my head on the concert.

So mothers be warned, don’t let your young kids go anywhere near the garage door if it is automatic unless you are with them.

Oh and another thing. I don’t sleep in my own room even though I’m the only one in the house who actually has a bed. :yup: 😊

I will join the fun…Most people don’t know that I enjoy writing as a hobby, poetry mostly ,but short stories as well…Also, Father forgive me, but two days ago our monthly rosary was cancelled ,and i was somewhat happy, as i wanted to watch a Christmas special, my favorite of all time was on the same night.(Rudolph). I confess I still watch this even though kids are grown.and yes, i sung along as well…lol…Warmly, LynneMarie

Oh you are so blessed!! What I wouldn’t give to be healthy. WOW. Twenty years between colds! I cannot even imagine it. How cool!

When I was two, my mom took me to a baseball game, and during the game she noticed a toddler running around the ball field and thought to herself “What nut isn’t watching their kid?” Well, turns out SHE wasn’t watching her kid. They had to stop the game and return me to my Nut. 🙂
I agree with Truly Beloved:

Okay, I won’t say it … but do you still get teased about the hitting your head on the concrete?😃

Thanks though it started out as a result of how I was treated when I was 6 rather than good health, though good health plays a part. I can be around people who are sick and never get sick. And I wish I could share some of my good health with you so you could feel better. :hug3: (I just love this little guy->:whackadoo:)

When I was 6, I was home from school with a cold. Now, most mothers as I understand, take care of a sick child and comfort them. My mother told me I was ruining her life and that since I was ruining her life, I could clean the house. Mind I was sick and 6 years old. I don’t remember if I actually cleaned the house but I do remember what she said. I learned that being sick was bad and so learned not to get sick ever again because I didn’t want to be treated like that and that nobody cared if I got sick. Now if my sisters or mother got sick it was a whole 'nother story. They could get sick and I had to wait on them hand and foot and they could stay home from school.

I go barefoot when it’s warm but I’m always wearing sandals, no matter how cold it is! Truthfully, I’ve always tried to do that, but my mother wouldn’t let me once it was the middle of October. Now that I’m in college though…hahahahahahaha

Of course, I only go barefoot on campus. I live in a big city and I think it unwise to walk on the streets barefoot. The only time I did that was because my shoes were REALLY hurting. Of course, one of my friends was so worried I’d step on a needle and contract syphilis:eek:
