I was actually searching for information on the old Lebanese singer Nur Al-Huda when Google suggested I look at this blog posting. Thanks, Google. It looks pretty interesting.

In what is likely the first of its kind in Canada, a Toronto mosque is offering a “detox” program for young Islamic radicals who are sympathetic to the terrorist group al Qaeda.
I must admit that I do wonder how they’re going to incorporate “traditional teachings of the Qur’an” into such a program when the commands of the Qur’an inspire a lot of people to turn to terrorism, but it seems like their hearts are in the right place. Pluralism and tolerance is certainly better than the alternative, no matter what religion we’re talking about.Muhammed Robert Heft, a team member of the Specialized De-radicalization Intervention program, says the program is based on the idea that Islamic extremism can be fought by incorporating traditional teachings of the Qur’an into a “12-step Extremist Detox Program.”
