Cardinal O’Brien and Susan Boyle back SCIAF’s Lent appeal

Cardinal Keith O’Brien, Britain’s most senior Catholic clergyman, is urging Catholics to support SCIAF’s Lent campaign ahead of international singing star Susan Boyle launching the charity’s Wee Box, Big Change appeal next week.

The Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF) is an agency of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland. SCIAF’s Lent campaign is Scotland’s largest annual international development fundraising campaign. The focus of this year’s campaign is on the emergency aid and long term development work in Haiti. Cardinal O’Brien visited Haiti in January to coincide with the first anniversary of the devastating earthquake which struck the island.

It is good to see Susan Boyle use her fame to help a worthwhile cause. May God bless her even more abundantly. 🙂
