Okay. I was wondering if perhaps there was another factor involved.

My only suggestion is to try praying for focus and attentiveness. That’s what I do.

Good meatloaf is not boring.

Far as the service being boring or not: For several days now all of the priests of our dioceses went on a convocation, leaving us supposedly Mass-less for the duration. Except one church, which talked a retired priest into doing the Mass for several days. So I went to that church this morning. Well…No singing of a hymn, even without accompaniment, during the processing in, as there was no processing in or processing out (and so, he was not at the door to greet people on the way out). No singing at all, which I missed. Didn’t even sing the Alleluia. He cut short the first part, just saying, Consider our sins. That was that. Adequate homily. But the whole thing just felt so fast and joyless.

BUT…As we always say, it’s all about the Eucharist. We did have a Mass, so I was happy that somebody was there to celebrate it. But we did get a taste of what boring is!

I’m glad someone here admits they can suffer boredom, too.

Yes, I love the Mass. I didn’t think it was possible to make it boring, but apparently it is.

Almost everyone is bored once in a while.
The question is what you do about it.

Focusing upon what exactly is going on is one proper response.

One should not wander from God for boredom.

One of the “different” churches claims to have the body blood bread and wine. Lutheran.

Do you have other Lutheran churches in your area? I don’t think all Lutherans are YEC. just wondering… I have no idea what size city or town you live in.

Um, no…isn’t that what my OP is kind of about? I mean I’ve learned a lot from posting here, and I’ve read a lot but I don’t pretend to know it all.

So has your question been answered?

Is there anything else that is keeping you from being Catholic?

Yes. Boredom and lack of being spiritually fed.

But my OP was answered.
