They can be related, but one can certainly be entertained without being spiritually fed and spiritually fed without being entertained.Aren’t they related? If someone is bored, they aren’t being spiritually fed and if they don’t feel spiritually fed, they get bored. They don’t have to be the same but I can certainly see a relationship.
How are the Catholic Churches you attended letting you down as far as spiritual nourishment go? What type of Spiritual nourishment are you looking for at this point on the journeyI’m not being spiritually fed at the CC.
I did. They go hand in hand.Sorry, I though you said boredom was the issue.
That’s exactly correct!Aren’t they related? If someone is bored, they aren’t being spiritually fed and if they don’t feel spiritually fed, they get bored. They don’t have to be the same but I can certainly see a relationship.
I want to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, and of course, sermons that keep my attention, that are relatable which touch my heart and spirit. How are the Catholic Churches you attended letting you down as far as spiritual nourishment go? Doing WHAT right? I partook of the Sacraments, I participated at Mass. i watch the priest when he’s at the altar. I talk to my (former) priests when I need to. What else IS there? Not if you are doing it right, no.
Thanks Patty. I’ve read people suggest to others, here, to just go to Adoration. I’ve done that MANY times, as well as Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and Stations of the Cross (during Lent, of course). I’ve participated in three different Catholic Bible Studies. What ELSE is there?Do you think that’s a fair statement? I think she was trying to do it right and was failing. Maybe she was doing something wrong but, if so, can anyone identify it?
This sounds like a blame the victim scenario…she didn’t feel nourished like you do so it’s her fault? She really enjoys many of the entertaining aspects of other types of churches so it’s her fault that she enjoys those types? Everyone seems to be telling her to lower her expectations. Why should she? Is it just because that’s the only way Mass will appeal to her? That would work if she can do that but what if she just can’t?
Right on, brother.Perhaps I was hasty and/or wrong. I am going to step back from this thread so I don’t risk getting wrapped up in my own ideas and not paying attention to what is actually going on.
The Eucharist.What ELSE is there?
