Get what?
You are not being very clear.

I thought you were looking for answers, but trying to get clarification on the questions isn’t getting very far.
You don’t get how I or others could be bored or not spiritually fed at a Catholic Mass, because you don’t feel that way.

You are making unwarranted assumptions.
Perhaps you could explain how exactly you came up with these conclusions about me…I do not recall providing sufficient information for them.

If you don’t like my “conclusions” about you, then please refrain from asking questions to indicate my “conclusions” are correct.

I thought you came here with questions.
However attempts to answer are being met with hostility.

Am I to understand that you do not want answers now?

Are you persuaded one way or the other if you don’t mind me asking?
If you’re asking if I’m going to return to the CC, the answer is no. At least not now. I might try a different Mass at a different time in a couple weeks, but I really don’t see it amounting to anything.

I forget if you’ve ever been asked or if it’s available to you…have you been to a charismatic catholic mass? I wonder if that isn’t what would fulfill your spirituality and solve the boredom?

If one isn’t anywhere close by, would it be possible to travel to the closest one…maybe a mini vacation just so you could check it out. It could even be a fun adventure! Of course, even if you love it, if it isn’t close by it couldn’t be your regular parish but…at least you’d know!

Thanks but…no. My friend is a charismatic Catholic and when she started talking in tongues it kind of freaked me out.

I meant on the sacraments. Do you believe they are inventions like some Baptists and non-denominationals? Or are they very important like Catholics, Orthodox and Lutherans?

I don’t think I believe they’re inventions. And yes, I think they’re important.

Sounds like it to me.
That is called a straw man.
That is, restatement of an opposing views that is actually inconsistent with what actually was said.
Most often, this is to “push over” the other view hoping no one will notice that the real position was misrepresented.

In this case, the statement was : " Mass is not to entertain. It is being at the foot of the cross, it is being at the Last Supper. Jesus is present at each Mass just as He was at the cross and at the Last Supper."

This in no way implies that it is wrong to enjoy.
In fact, most will tell you that being in the presence of God and receiving him in the most intimate of ways is joy…more joyful then anything else on Earth.

Yet you restated the position as “it’s wrong to enjoy a church service”

This is either an honest misunderstanding that has been clarified…or a dishonest debate tactic that does not withstand scrutiny.

I just wanted to clarify something. I’ve since learned from my pastor who also spoke to another pastor about YEC and the LCMS isn’t required to believe the earth is 6000 years old, after all. Ok, carry on.
