Tehran- The Iranian clergy plans to hold a protest demonstration against Pope Benedict XVI, the Fars news agency reported Saturday. The country’s clergy seminary centre said in a statement carried by Fars that in protest of the pope’s remarks on Islam, a demonstration will be held Sunday morning in Qom, the country’s Islamic heart, 135 kilometres south of the capital Tehran.

The statement added that all seminaries will be closed Sunday, and that all students were called to attend the demonstration. The decision to hold a demonstration was taken before the pope expressed regret over his remarks on Islam.

Several Islamic centres in Iran have already called on the Pope to learn more about Islam and its tenets.

How does one deal with these irrational beings/???
Good question. Your answer is as good as mine. Personally, I think Benedict XVI will die a martyrs death. I move, that we email HH. Telling him that we support him.

I, for one, would like to see them demonstrate, full-out, all week. It will cost those businessmen masquerading as clerics an arm and a leg to hire all the demonstrators; far more to hire the thugs it will require to keep the demonstrators from turning on the mullahs themselves.

The whole premise of a portion of the quote that Benedict 16 was using was that Islam’s earliest message was one of spreading their faith by violence.

So these people protest that quote by using violence.

And they can’t use alcohol as an excuse for this really poor display of common sense, like most mob violence participants. They just don’t get it do they? I guess they don’t get taught anything close to critical thinking in their Muslim schools.

And what’s with the media? You’d think they’d be really coming out against the senselessness of the whole thing, but they seem to be blaming the Holy Father? I only saw a few discuss this intelligently, and take a guess? They were the conservative shows. Does anyone have any brains anymore? Are we living in the Far Side?

Why does no one in the media report that the speech took place four days ago and the protests are just now starting? Obviously this is being used by Muslim leaders to give their people something to unite over. I fear Henry Kissinger may have been correct when he pointed out that we are heading for a war of cultures. Satan is loving this one. Pray the rosary.
